The food is classic Japanese but I have to say the sushi is real and very fresh. Not premade soggy limp stuff. Their sushi bar and food is real. They prep and fillet the fresh fish there and cut and serve to order. My adult kids like the steak and that is very good too. I work nearby and noticed the place is always busy at lunch with lots of business men enjoying a good meal. Lunch servise is fast and respectful of short lunch hours for the business men. I go there often when I want to treat myself to a nice lunch, have business lunches with clients, and take the staff for a birthday dinner. Perfect place.
My go to spot for sushi in Huntington Beach! They also have a great dinner hibachi grill, but you definitely have to make reservations. Everything is always fresh and super clean. The service is always great. I love trying new things here and sitting at the sushi bar. I would highly recommend this place for not only sushi, but for tepp grill as well. They are great with accommodating gluten allergies as my wife is always taken care of here.

Amazing teppanyaki show! The waitresses were fantastic with drink refills, and the man working the Teppanyaki table did phenomenal! The food was beyond amazing (especially the fried rice) the scallops and steak meal is definitely a must have. The sushi is also very delicious. I cannot hesitate coming here whenever I drive by. It is absolutely amazing! The visuals are fantastic. The atmosphere is great. The workers are kind and it is never too busy! However, the meals are quite expensive so if you’re dining with children or others that may not eat too much. I recommend sharing a dish as it is plentiful.Parking: sometimes it may be difficult to find parking, but most of the time it is quite easy.Kid-friendliness: Children will love the teppanyaki show.Wheelchair accessibility: There are ramps all throughout the restaurant to avoid staircases.

Veggie Soup good I had the chicken teriyaki and the tempura I didn't know what all the other vegetables were besides the zucchini and the shrimp, The chicken was very dried out no matter how much sauce they put on it it was very dry, I Don't think I'd order it again,

First and foremost, the service was excellent. The prices was fair and reasonable. The sushi was delicious and fresh, and my personal experience for the Sapporo was the best draft beer I’ve had in a long time.

Did tappan last night and seriously the food was so bland it was gross. I think my cooks seasoning shaker was clogged. He kept wiping the top of it with a wet towel too…..after I had all my food I even added more salt but it wasn’t the same. He used little butter as well. He just didn’t give the food any flavor:( for that we can’t come back it was $110 to eat terrible food. That sucks because we loved Matsu.
