I found Moonwood Coffee in the same shopping center of a coin shop that is awesome to visit. I ended up wanting a treat and some coffee, so I walked over. The storefront has a bit of an awkward entrance away from the other business doors...but keep walking to find it because this spot is totally amazing! I ordered a cedar cinnamon iced latte and the espresso was absolutely perfectly paired with the cinnamon and brown sugar flavors. They enhanced each other perfectly and my husband who doesn't even like coffee or espresso very much was also addicted. We tried a cinnamon roll, which had this flaky dough and well balanced frosting that was not overly sweet. I was in love with that. We also tried an almond bear claw, which I thought was just ok but my husband loved it even more than the cinnamon roll. There were tons of other treats here as this is also a bakery and they do catering! I would highly recommended checking it out. The decor was also really cute and service was perfect. Just be aware the shop is small and there is minimal spots to sit and enjoy inside or on the patio, so plan on taking the treats to go ideally!

Moonwood Coffee, nestled in Huntington Beach just off Adams Avenue, provides a delightful haven for coffee enthusiasts and food connoisseurs alike. The establishment boasts a multifaceted experience, seamlessly blending the warmth of a cozy coffee shop with the convenience of a delectable bakery and catering services.I ordered their signature M Blend Drip Coffee, an intricate blend featuring notes of milk chocolate, melon, and a special apricot twist. What sets Moonwood apart is their commitment to sourcing coffee beans directly from small family farms, ensuring a unique and ethically produced cup. The handcrafted, locally roasted batches showcase a dedication to preserving and highlighting each bean's distinct flavor profile, making it a haven for true coffee lovers. Bonus points for the option to take home these exceptional beans and recreate the experience in the comfort of your own kitchen. Turning to the savory side, I ordered the Sierra Sandwich, a culinary masterpiece housed within a ciabatta roll. This made to order delight comprised a harmonious ensemble of egg, cheddar cheese, ham, bacon, grilled tomato, butter herb spread, and a kick of chipotle mayo. The freshness and quality of each ingredient were evident, creating a symphony of flavors that left a lasting impression. For those with a sweet tooth, Moonwood offers a diverse array of baked goods that are sure to tempt even the most discerning palates. From pastries to cakes, the selection caters to a range of taste preferences, adding a layer of indulgence to the overall experience. A shining star in Moonwood Coffee's constellation is their exemplary customer service, embodied by the attentive and friendly Jessica. A testament to their commitment to excellence, the management, under Jessica's guidance, ensures a welcoming atmosphere that complements the high quality offerings. Moonwood Coffee stands as a beacon of exceptional coffee, delectable fare, and top notch service in Huntington Beach. Moonwood Coffee is a must visit destination that seamlessly blends quality, variety, and a genuine passion for the craft. Definitely recommend!

It was my first time, and they are very friendly and helpful. She explained all the different flavor coffees they had and ground my beans up that i purchased. She let me try tastes of coffee and sweets. I am very happy with my purchase of ground beans, moonwood espresso. Thank you.

Super friendly owner. Gave me samples from their newly-introduced-as-of-yesterday breakfast menu (was given the Tahoe toast, Cleveland quiche, and Sierra sandwich) and their signature drip coffee with the sweet cream. Real good stuff, usually never order a coffee place’s drip coffee but I’ll definitely be coming back for it. Was also told that their lunch menu would be starting soon.Their chai comes from a small women-owned business, got it with a shot of espresso and almond milk. It’s a really good spiced chai, not your normal smooth chai. They also gift your dog a teeny all-natural treat made of oatmeal and peanut butter, although they were out of them when I went. My dog loved the samples he got of the breakfast menu though lolIn general, a unique wood-themed and pleasant coffee shop/bakery that I recommend to definitely check out. This will most likely my new go-to coffee shop + I want to try all their pastries !

What better way to start the day than to check out a new coffee shop with your husband! We ordered an iced moonwood latte with oat milk and the m iced coffee. Both were great. We were also offered samples of the Shasta and Sierra breakfast sandwiches and they were so bomb. If we didn't have lunch plans then we probably would have ordered both sandwiches right then and there. I also overheard the owner saying that they baked all of their pastries from scratch - they had every type of pastry you can imagine. I can't wait to come back and try them all!

Was a patron of the other Moon coffee shop for a few years, and yes, it was good. Stopped by here one day when I was in a hurry. It was close to home and had to have some coffee and what a great surprise! I dare say the beans are pretty damn good and the pastries are to die for... all of them. I now stop by a few times a week for my fix. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great. If you are in the area, definitely give Moonwood a try. Tell them Moshi sent you for the samples.

Good all around but a few things worth noting.Different take on Chai which I didn't love. The coffee and baked goods were great. Some baked items need to be ordered in advance rather than grabbing what you see in the display, so read the signs before deciding.

I have to admit, all it took was one Moonwood Coffee experience and we were hooked - we love Moonwood! The food is delicious and variety - truly second to none. If you are looking for something decadent to spoil yourself or perhaps make a big impact (and win over friends and colleagues), you will definitely want to consider the dessert jars, baked goods, and trays. The prices are exceptional and not to mention the staff..So let's talk about the staff. Alecia (owner) is committed to exceptional customer service and this is also supported by the superb experience with the Moonwood Team Members. I am always thrilled when I pick up an order and Amber graciously welcomes me and is always incredibly appreciative of the business. She is thoughtful and knows the products forwards and backwards. When driving down Adams, if you blink you could miss Moonwood and you owe it to yourself to check out this FABULOUS coffee shop with a bakery line-up that will be memorable for a lifetime.

Before the day gets away from me, A BIG HAPPY SHOUT OUT TO JESSICA and Alecia and the Moonwood team. They were referred to me by a competitor of theirs and boy, oh boy, I AM SO GLAD WE REACHED OUT AND ENGAGED THEM for yesterday's party. As previous reviewers have stated, their work is not easy. The set-up is arduous and they have to be ready for all sorts of different requests from an impatient audience of partygoers. The product was PERFECT and Jessica is one very patient and very nice and VERY TALENTED individual. Moonwood Coffee is delicious! and I'm a pain in the ass about coffee --- will definitely wholeheartedly recommend Moonwood Coffee to you.

Loved this coffee shop! Cute little coffee shop and bakery. They have a variety of coffee drinks and an even larger variety of bakery items. Right when we walked in a woman came out from behind the counter and gave my 2.5 year old 2 free mini cookies - she was so so sweet and even asked me in code if she could have some before offering incase I said no haha. Eve try one working there was oh so very nice!We sat outside. Now that I'm thinking of it I don't think there was an inside seating option, which I'm totally fine with haha. A good amount of seating outside and it was a beautiful day! They have a little window that slides open to hand you your coffee even!I got the cedar cinnamon latte with oat milk - very good. Nothing wrong with it at all and hit the spot for me that morning for sure. I really want to go back and try it iced too. My muffin was SO GOOD. I got the cinnamon swirl muffin and it was spot on! Cinnamon goodness through out it and pretty moist too! Loved every single bite and was bummed I had to share it with my kids haha.I can muster up some type of constructive criticism I'd say it would be nice to have a savory pastry option. But they may have and I just didn't see it! There were a lot of things there! Side note: their custom cookies looked ADORABLE so if you're looking for a place to order pastries for a work meeting or custom cookies for something check them out! They do great work! Thanks for helping me start my day off right! Be back soon!

I'm editing this review since the owner has responded to it. Unfortunately add this business to the list of other far-right places you'll never want to associate yourself with in HB like that Italian restaurant down the street. Pointing to Gracey's advocacy work but ignoring that she was investigated by the Anti-Defamation League, has referred to black people as "colored people", and thinks books about the LGBTQIA+ community is "grooming children". Unfortunately you make your shop political when you start creating displays supporting politicians, I really wish business would just stick to their lane. The advocacy work is great, but the company kept is terrible.Original Review:I won't consider returning to this place until it removes its display with a card supporting Huntington Beach City Council member Gracey Van Der Mark.Gracey has a history of denying the Holocaust and associates herself with Proud Boys, a hate group. Her first act as part of our city council was to attempt to remove books about LGBTQ issues as well as trying to defund our Huntington Beach library.Either this coffee shop supports a bigot who divides our community, or at the very least are blind to what she espouses and should do better before promoting politicians in their coffee shop.We used to come her for cinnamon rolls because we thought we were supporting a nice local coffee shop. Now we'll drive the extra 5 minutes to The Donuttery like we used to.
