North Shore Poke Co. is the absolute best place for poke anywhere in the world, and I’ve lived in Hawaii for 30 years, it’s just so much fresher, better quality, and with way more creative and customizable options! This is the only place I go to for my poke, I visited Hawaii recently and didn’t even bother with their expensive and mediocre options. Thanks so much for the awesome & friendly service too!!

A casual Hawaiian Restaurant in Huntington Beach featuring Hawaiian poke bowls and nachos, plus gluten-free and vegetarian options. My cousin recommended this place to me during our last visit to Huntington Beach. He was very positive as well as satisfied with the food and the service of North Shore Poke. Their overall service was undoubtedly very good, but the taste and quality of the food were the only aspects that left me disappointed!

I went to North Shore Poke Co. for lunch on March 28, 2026 after my visit to Huntington Beach. The place was moderately crowded the time I got in. The interior is nicely designed, capturing a traditional Hawaiian vibe. I chose the custom poke bowl - a small bowl with Rice and Salad, topped with three Hawaiian sauces (Traditional Shoyu, Spicy Mayo, and Spicy Shoyu), along with Ahi Tuna, Salmon, and extras like Cucumber, Masago, and Furikake. I also added Fresh Spicy Tuna and Seaweed Salad, which cost an additional $4.50! What disappointed me most was being charged for the Seaweed Salad, as many other poke spots typically include it as a complimentary topping. Their service was fast, and my small poke bowl was served within 5 minutes.

The portion size felt underwhelming, considering the price I paid. The taste was also below average. They claim that their fish is “Fresh”, my poke bowl unfortunately didn’t reflect that. Most concerning of all, the Fresh Spicy Tuna seemed spoiled and had a very unpleasant smell! When I informed them, they promptly replaced the Fresh Spicy Tuna with Blue Crab. But by that time, I had lost my appetite due to the incident and could barely finish my poke bowl. North Shore Poke Co. might be one of the top poke spots in Huntington Beach, but I would still rank The Poke Place in Rancho Cucamonga and Ahipoki Bowl in Rialto well above it. Most likely I’m not coming back to this place again!

I have in the past always gone to the Cerritos Location (Closed in 2020) for Poke Tacos and Poke Nachos. This location is the original and had the need for some Poke Nachos and Poke Tacos, of Wameia style. I was sad that there are no more Poke Tacos, but their Poke Nachos is still there and I love it. The Preset Wameia poke bowl is my go to and it is the best. I do not get add on because the preset is already good. The Sunset is my second choice. They are open until 5 pm, closed on Mondays.

Skip the lines on Main St!
This poke spot is fire 🔥
They practice Aloha ✨🤙🏼
The food is authentic poké style—think Maui Foodland, but in Huntington Beach downtown! I get the tuna/salmon combo with all my favorite add-ons.
The fish is FRESH—so check the hours because once they sell out, it’s gone for the day!
Pro tip: Ask for furikake on top of the rice! It gives it an added layer of depth, complexity, and umami flavor.
Parking can be tight—there’s metered parking in front. Definitely throw a few bucks in and don’t risk it! If you do a loop around the block, there are a few green 24-minute parking spots that they don’t monitor the exact time on. There’s also a parking structure one block up with plenty of spaces.
Service is fast and attentive, often made by the owner himself! Thank you, Sean!!
Good vibes, good views, good food, good people!

Over the years prices have JACKED up but I think it’s still a killer deal to get their half pound of poke + a side of salad or rice OR take it home and have an amazingly delicious poke meal with your own homemade sides. The staff are super friendly and I don’t mind the price when I’m in a poke mood!

This place is the best poke in Huntington Beach! Run by a veteran surfer and his wife, they are some of the kindest souls who take the time to get to know you. Morgan has had my order memorized for years 🤣 The poke is fresh and there’s countless toppings and sauces to choose from to make the tastiest concoction you can imagine. Try it with coconut Waimea sauce with a teriyaki drizzle! This is my weekly spot 😋

Excellent service, friendly, helpful, quick. You build your own from the menu (which is a video display with tape used to show changes. Why they didn't update the display???) I must have done it wrong. I had a 2-fish poke bowl with brown rice and teriyaki. The flavor was blah. Not bad, just blah. I don't know how to make a poke bowl so this format didn't work for me. I'll ask for more help next time.

Came from out of state for a trip and this was the best poke i’ve ever had. We went in as soon as it opened and it already had people lined up but their service was so fast but still so excellent we got our food less than 5-10 minutes. The garlic was a MUST and the sauce was soooo good. It was perfect to enjoy on the beach, will be coming back.

FOOD SAFETY ISSUE: DO NOT EAT HERE

There are a couple problems with this place that are serious food safety issues.

1) There was a BONE in my Poke (Picture below). Anyone who eats sashimi or Poke knows this is a serious food safety issue and can choke or kill someone. I showed the bone to the manager and he said “We do the best we can but sometimes bones remain”. Unacceptable!

2) All the Salmon has skin and fat left on its edges that gives it a bitter taste. I have eaten Poke in a hundred places and never seen this. Manager didn’t take this complaint seriously either!

3) They say their fish is “Fresh” but they don’t follow standards to make it sashimi grade. Anyone knows that you have to keep fish at certain temperatures for certain times to meet sashimi grade criteria!!

Many more complaints as well but this was the most important issues. I am not going to eat here again for sure.

The best poke in Los Angeles. Fresh, flavorful fish, not chewy.
