Sandy's Beach Shack

We ate there a while back on 1/31/24 and the food was outstanding. The Mahi Mahi fish tacos with avocado and the Poki Tuna were delicious plus a great selection of beer and wine. This time we went on Saturday, January 17th, 2026 with friends. I ordered similar, swordfish tacos with avocado and my wife ordered the poki tuna. Her's looked smaller than the last time. The fish was good on both items but it seems the flavoring was not, very bland. What happened to the pico de Gallo? The cream sauce aoli was okay but seems like there was a lack of flavor maybe on the swordfish itself? Also the kale salad was very bland lacking flavor, like as if everything was put together too fast. In fact we usually eat at the Crab pot happy hour in Long Beach and your food this time made their salmon tacos 5 star. Disappointed for such a beautiful spot in HB.

They lost our reservation and instead of getting the requested firepit to celebrate a birthday, we were put in a cold, damp table in the farthest corner of the outside patio. No heatlamps, little lighting. The server was attentive and most of the food was good (fish tacos were dry). Overall, a disappointing evening.

We sat on the patio. Obviously, the view was amazing. Fish and chips was outstanding and the mahi tacos were very good. Our server, Ellen was attentive and friendly. Will definitely go back.

Lunch was amazing. The service was fast, the ambiance was warm and beautiful. We really enjoyed the outdoor patio and their heaters that kept us warm and cozy, yet the ability to have a great view of the beach. My chicken piccata, my sister's shrimp cabobs and Mom's cobb salad were all delicious! Thank you! Highly recommend eating here while visiting Huntington Beach!

We sat out on the patio with our dog. The sliding doors to the inside of the restaurant were open so we could watch the TV's with games and listen to the music videos. Great atmosphere, both inside and outside. The food was delicious. They have a dog menu and treat your dog well.

Julie is absolutely amazing. we are in town from colorado. we came back again today because Julie is fantastic. The food is wonderful and the view is spectacular

Food was delish, shrimp cocktail was very tasty. Fun atmosphere right on the beach, live music. Our waitress was very friendly and full of suggestions. Beer was cold and frothy. Prices weren't too bad.
