That Epic Burrito Shack

Food here used to be really good. The last few times I went here, I was not impressed.

The guy who helped me at the register turned the screen around and gave himself a tip after I paid. That's crazy.

I’ve been coming here for years and have had nothing but great burritos and service. I went there today and got the same thing I always get, the Asada burrito with the salsa on the side. When I got to the car and took a bite the burrito had salsa inside. I went back in and told the guy politely that there is salsa inside and I asked for it on the side because my wife can’t eat spicy things. The cook back there (older bigger guy with a beard) grabbed my burrito from my hand and threw it in the trashcan extremely forcefully and muttering stuff in Spanish with the most attitude and told the other guy to make a new burrito while waving his hands and keeps talking in Spanish while looking at me with disgust. I told him how rude and uncalled that was for him to treat me with such disrespect and he continues to yell at me saying I was disrespectful for bringing it back and kept talking in Spanish. I know enough to know what he was saying was not nice. I couldn’t believe how disrespectful and downright rude he was being to me. I’ll never be going back to that place just because of him. Horrible!

Disappointed by the breakfast burrito. Bacon & sausage. They use freezer tater tots and sausage and keep them in a warmer. Cheap shredded cheese. The green salsa was a redeeming feature though.

Ordered over the phone and the guy got mad at me because I was having trouble understanding him.

I am a breakfast burrito aficionado and I do not approve of this burrito.

First time here came based on the reviews. I wouldn’t say it was the best breakfast burrito. I wouldn’t even say it was an epic burrito. It was fairly pretty good. You get a good portion size. I highly suggest that they update the menu prices showing $8.50 for a burrito that is actually now $11 which was borderline what I would pay for a breakfast burrito anyway, but I can’t say that I would come back because taco stand sells her breakfast burritos for under $8.

Burritos are good, they would be even better if they put more than 2 oz of carnitas on it…

So this burrito joint is in a liquor store. The outside is dark gray and doesn't seem to have any windows, but as soon as you walk in you notice The epic burrito shack inside on the left. All the people that work there seem pretty friendly and down to earth and the burritos they have there are..... well for lack of a better word EPIC!!
My breakfast burrito was the size of my forearm but had a lot more flavor. Hash browns, sausage, bacon, cheese, eggs, guac, pico and hotsauce. I didn't think I was going to finish the whole thing but it was so good that I couldn't stop myself. It was gone before I knew it. The size was impressive and beautiful to behold. I don't often take pictures of my food but after my first three bites, I had to take a picture of this monster. (can for comparison) The picture doesn't do it justice. Just go in and have yourself a burrito and enjoy. Cuz it's great.
It's definitely a to-go situation as there is no place to sit in there. so not a great place to meet somebody for lunch unless you're going to go to the park or something.

Have been seeing this all over social media this past year. On my way to the HB Airshow today decided it was time to check it out. What a solid Burrito Shack breakfast burrito. Size wise? Come hungry or get ready to share. Sadly it's not the way I go to work. If HB, Newport is your daily travel, get in and enjoy.

This place is great! The burritos are excellent. The staff is very cool and polite, and the selection of drinks and alcohol is incredible! I can't recommend this place enough!

Buyer beware, check your receipt!
At the counter: $8.50 for sausage/bacon breakfast burrito, $9.50 for carne asada.
On the website: 9.50 for sausage/bacon, $10.00 for carne asada. On my receipt $9.75 for sausage/bacon, $11.00 for carne asada. And I didn’t customize or add anything extra.

Yes, the burritos are good. But these people are SHADY.
Also- It’s a “locals” place. By the conversations we could tell several people in line behind us knew the staff. All of them got the orders before us, and they were the same exact order we had, so there was no excuse.
You will pay more and wait longer. Don’t bother with this place.

Carne breakfast burrito is great with generous portions, I ordered the hot salsa on the side and ultimately used my own sauce.

Open kitchen, clean with fast service and friendly staff.
