Stellar in some ways. Best part is the food. Shouldn't that be all that matters? I've been a loyal customer, on and off, for years. This visit we started Spanakopita. Filo dough, spinach and feta cheese heart stopper. Next was pita and olive. Pita bread with olive tapenade. Perfect and bold. Then the locally famous cauliflower dish. Pan fried cauliflower with a light sauce of yogurt, almond and with a touch of heat... maybe cayenne. All fantastic. I love a restaurant that is not afraid of bold flavors! The not so great for 3 stars. Harsh acoustics that makes it so hard to hear friends. And not very intimate seating. But the biggy for was the small trickery on the bill. We asked for the house cabernet. In virtually all restaurants that means the least expensive.... In a nice place you can count on the house wine being good. The bill comes, and they had charged us $20 per glass of wine. Not nice. But I will keep coming back because you just can't find this quality of exciting flavors often. Stellar yum rating!

In town for the #expowest2024 show and decided to spend the weekend in Huntington, Beach. Looked up of lots of places and landed on The Black Trumpet…I’m in the food business and travel a lot, so when eating out it takes a high level of execution to really get me excited! This place absolutely exceeded my expectations on every level! We tried a little of everything, and we were blown away….filet empanadas were absolutely the best I’ve ever had hands down! From the first course to dessert with a nice port, we were just in love! Service was impeccable and atmosphere was just perfect! So glad we made the stop, and it will certainly be my go to next time I’m in town!

My wife and I eat here everytime we come out here to work . Sadly I ordered a new york strip medium well. I got a top sirloin medium raw . Tuff as shoe leather and 1/2 inch thick or less . Now I buy cryo bags and butcher my own cuts so I know what is what when it comes to a cut of beef . This was top sirloin not properly handled or marinated to tenderize it cooked on one side then seared and served on the other. I had ordered a salad as well but the waiter that took my order by memory fogot it so he brought my fake New York . I called him over and told him I have 3 issues with my order . One my steak is medium raw and showed him the purple he agreed. I explained this cut is not a New York and I wont be eating it and I would like the beat salad I had ordered . I told him to charge me for the steak but I wouldnt eat it . He didnt charge me for it . My wife and I ate what we could then I left a good tip and have no desire to return . I dont know what has changed here but I never go to a place twice that will sell you a top shelf item and serve bottom of the barrel trash hoping to get by with it.Parking: No issues and now that they changed their menu and the quality has changed over time you will find plenty of places to park as folks tkae notice this isnt what it used to be .

Had the Lamb shank. It was fabulous! It took quite a long time for the food to come..but the Lamb was cooked perfectly. Plenty of bread a delicious salad. Atmosphere was so perfect. We had a great time!!!
