The Local Nod Cafe

Last time we were there the food and service was poor.

Came here on a Saturday around 1pm as my dog was getting groomed in the area. I ordered the pancake trio, a breakfast plate and a Vietnamese coffee. The pancake trio was great! And their bacon is amazing! The service was good, prices are fair and it wasn’t too crowded. I would definitely come back.

Went there for a lunch with friends. I'd heard they had decent food and cocktails. Ordered the espresso martini and basically got a cold coffee with milk and a splash of vodka in a regular glass. Definitely not a martini. The bloody Mary was tomato juice and a splash of vodka - no garnish, pepper, tabasco or anything else. The food was just ok. We ordered the tacos, chilaquiles and breakfast burrito. Server and the rest of the staff were extremely nice. But the rest of the experience not as spectacular as I had expected.

During my recent visit to Local Nod Cafe, I encountered a significant lapse in service. Although I arrived before other guests, my order was delayed, and despite making eye contact with the server, Amanda, she proceeded to assist other tables first. As a result, other patrons received their meals while my order had yet to be taken, which left me feeling overlooked as a customer. This was super disappointing because we traveled specifically to HB for this experience.

Tried it out because of the reviews.
And completely overrated.
We had to let the kitchen know there were missing items listed on the menu that were missing on our plates .

The food was lukewarm/cold, the taste was very bland and boring.
Super misleading.

Food is definitely a notch above amazing..the coffee.. I'm sure they have Colombians in the back making fresh coffee.. lol one of those places you just have to experience to understand..

The food was quite expensive for what it was. No flavors to write about except the pancakes that had bbq pecans on top. That was odd.

Breakfast Burrito was OK but not great. However, my wife made When Harry Met Sally noises over her pancakes. Pancakes were plenty for two people. Music was louder than my Boomer ears liked. We'll go back because it was different enough from regular breakfasts.

Stumbled across the Local Nod Cafe looking for a new place for breakfast. Had the Classic Benny and it was delicious and inexpensive! The staff are friendly and helpful. The music can be a bit loud but the Local Nod Cafe is my new breakfast stop!

Strange music…
Omelette eggs did not seem fresh- chewy and “bacon” was chopped real small and was mostly fat- ugh. Last time I ate there in March, it was great- what happened!?

Parking: Just about broke my arm trying to get into the bathroom!!
