The town baker has been sold. It is now The Sunflower. The food and coffee is still good but I do miss the old owners. I hope to get to know the new owners just as well in time.

The Town Baker is now The Sunshine Cafe! Don't worry, the delicious caramel pecan rolls are still there. My husband and I enjoyed the friendly service and good food this morning. You can check them out online at www.the sunflower.online.

I was staying at the Fireside Inn just a couple minutes walk away, and came here for breakfast. As of that chilly weekend in March 2021, they have a covered outdoor patio. I didn't have anyone to share the infamous pecan sticky bun with, so I got the apple cinnamon scone - but no complaints! It was a darn good scone! When I go up to Idyllwild again, I'm definitely getting more pastries here.

I went for a late breakfast . Had a delicious cheese bagel. The man working the counter was very nice . He told me I can go sit down and he would bring me my bagel. The outdoor seating was beautiful and relaxing . This will definitely be my spot for breakfast when I go up to the mountain .

We love the Town Baker. There's absolutely nothing that compares to enjoying a hot cup of coffee with a warm pastry, sitting on a picnic table in the woods on a crisp spring morning, as the warm sun peeks through the trees. It's an experience you just can't beat! We visit this little bakery every time we're in Idyllwild and dream about the Lemon Ricotta cookies for weeks afterwards.

Proof that product quality is more important than frontage. In winter they are closed Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. Favorite are their cinnamon rolls.

Came by this morning to get some breakfast, ordered: 1) caramel pecan roll - they warmed it up for us, good! 2) apple cheese turnover - haven't tried yet but looks good too They have a clean restroom for customers, only 1 party allowed Inside at all times due to covid social distancing.

They made the best chocolate cake I have ever had. Please don't tell my mother! I ordered a birthday cake for my love and we could not have been happier. Just a simple chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, but they knocked it out of the park. The cake was moist and the frosting was decadent. Oh and they made the best gingerbread cookies I've had outside of Franconia.

Came here for breakfast and coffee one morning and it did not disappoint. We loved the spinach feta pastry and the apple cinnamon roll which was huge and so delicious. Our 2 drinks and 2 pastries came out to around $20, which we felt was very appropriate for the quantity and quality of everything. Staff was also very pleasant. With covid, it felt very safe and we liked how only one party was allowed inside at a time. Will be back!
