My food rating is actually for their drinks. Ive never had their food, but would like to try the next time I go.
The coffee is really good and my favorite drink is the Mermaid Special. Since I tried it, it is the only thing drink I order. Don't need to try anything else đ

Attempting to be laid back, but place was dirty almost every table had dirt on them. No one cleaned the lobby while there. Flys as a result. Food was only ok. Expensive for what u get.

Katyâs CafĂŠ in imperial Beach is when a few places open on a Sunday. This is a place where you can get smoothies, coffees, snacks, and just about anything else you want to drink. The place is always hopping and busy I a good way.
There are three tables against the south wall near the graphic where you can meet with people. In the middle, there are two additional larger tables where some people hang out. And then along the northern wall, there are lounge chair high tops where we can either sit or wait for your order.
The local painting art is fun as well. There are a couple pieces on the flower cooler that are nice. But the ones near the door, showing scenes of surfing, are my favorite. The artist is listed as Lynn. Iâve never met Lynn, but I definitely like Lynnâs work.
Katyâs Cafe does offer a Wi-Fi, though I donât see a lot of people parking here and doing the laptop lifestyle. Iâm sure some people do, maybe they hook up with their phone. The location is dog friendly as well. It has a total Imperial Beach vibe.
The graphics and painting on the wall makes us place super vibrant. I love the style of the painting That they have. In the morning, parking is usually pretty easy. In the afternoon, parking would be a little bit more challenging.
The staff is always super friendly and accommodating. It doesnât take too long to get whatever you order. I have tried the Norwegian, lox bagel, the CafĂŠ Club sandwich, and the Banana Slamma smoothies. Iâve always enjoyed everything here. Not being much of a coffee drinker, I always revert to the chai latte. But today I ordered the Banana Slamma. Total winner.
This is an excellent place to snag some food. In the back, there are some chairs there are always constantly busy. Itâs a great place to hang out before heading back to the beach.

Katyâs is a local spot! My elderly father walks here almost daily and I tag along sometimes. The staff here is the best in townâ so friendly, kind and helpful! My personal favorite is the chipotle bueno.
It help that is also mere steps to an ocean view. Whatâs not to like really

My friend and I stopped here after getting into SD. The salmon beach bagel was amazing, and the açaà bowl was also great!! The workers were so friendly too! Nice vibes all around.

Great coffees and the food is perfect for a slightly different take on breakfast foods. The Bedhead has been an after surf standard for years.

Stood at the counter for 4minutes , shop was busy (thatâs ok) there was no âhey Iâll be right thereâ or âIâll be with you in a momentâ just people walking past me. After 4 minutes cool guy with mustache (great dude) came up took my order. Went to go sit down with my girlfriend, the whole bench was wet so I sat on a corner that wasnât wet(thatâs fine , it happens), the tables were pushed in a corner so we just shared 2 tables (I felt it rude to move the establishments set up). There are 3 open tables in the restaurant , woman with curly hair that works the front walks over and tells us that they have a lot of customers and that they need to take a table from us and that we shouldnât have taken 2 tables because thereâs only 2 of us( my girlfriend was mid bite lol) . I asked her for a rag so I can wipe the bench and not get wet so I could scoot us over. ( the lady that had talked to us needed space for her friend that didnât need to wait in line, she just walked in an was greeted with a huge hug). 1. would of been cool to hear a âjust one moment pleaseâ 2. âSorry for inconvenience, do you mind if I move this table that your eating on we mis judged our table placementâ. Literally ANY common courtesy would have made it ok. Even me saying âthankyouâ after I ordered and tipped was greeted with a blank stare.
