This is my 5th time trying Swagyu and somehow became my best experience. The food was AMAZING. One of the best smash burgers I've ever had. I almost gave up on Swagyu after a bad experience at the UTC location. Will definitely be coming back.

Good food, and the regular cheeseburger is a good deal at $9. Onion rings were nice and crunchy. There is a nice discount for locals as well!

I had an amazing experience at Swagyu Burger! Our server, Luis, went above and beyond with his service friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. He made sure everything was perfect and made us feel right at home. I also tried one of the milkshakes he made, and it was incredible—creamy, flavorful, and easily one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Between the great food, the awesome milkshake, and Luis’s outstanding service, this visit was a 10/10. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Delicious burger! I got the OG swagyu burger and it was better than I expected. The meat they use is top-notch and the bun was great too. I’ve driven by this place so often I figured I’d try it, and was not disappointed. Good service as well— very satisfied.

I had a terrible experience at 2 locations but was in town and had friends that wanted to try this place. We should have know it was not going to go well. To start, we had awful service and we should have left before ordering. We were rushed into ordering despite the place being almost empty (go figure) and there almost a feel like the person was doing us a favor by even taking our order. Our food was bland, there nothing particularly good about it. We had burgers that had a bun that fell apart with soggy fries. The burger had almost no taste and had a super weird aftertaste, like metallic almost: Now, the real trouble started 8 hours later when I spent the entire next day on the toilet. I’ve seen rocky road ice cream with more consistency than this. Would never recommend this place to my worst enemy. Unfortunately I need to give 1 star to leave a review, they don’t even deserve that. My downstairs neighbor is the real hero. After hearing the toilet flush 9 times in 2 hours they came up to ask if everything was okay. Now they know to not try Swagyu. I can’t believe they charge fur this type a of experience
We drove to San Diego to celebrate my daughter's birthday over the weekend. Our first stop of our planned series-of-restaurant visits was lunch at Swagyu Burger, Imperial Beach, as they are near our AirBnB. Luis was wonderful. It has been years since I experienced excellent customer service. He explained the menu well and served us with a portion of the fries, pork belly and shake. They were scrumptuous. The combo we ordered was so satistfying. We sure will be relaxing for the rest of the day as we won't need to eat dinner. We are so full. Happy weekend!

IB is fortunate to have great burger joints. However this is #1. Michelin rated Tanners in Oceanside and Swaygu I would say are the two of the best burgers I've had in over 25 years living in California. Try the Japanese A5 cheeseburger. Add some Waygu tallow fries.... And the tallow brownie shake.

Best burger I've had in months. Worth the hype. The staff extremely friendly and accommodating. I wish the location was on Seacoast. So I hope they survive where they are because 5 Guys is a joke compared to Swagyu.
