Worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Walked out and was immediately told how children aren’t allowed inside the restaurant. In a very unfriendly manner, they said we could sit outside and they begrudgingly put some tables together for us. After waiting a decent amount of time a server Came with a bad attitude, and I have never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant before. After this, we realized it wasn’t worth staying and left.

So amazing!!! Best Indian food we have food traveling! Saag Paneer and my Chicken tikka masala was the bomb! Garlic naan was phenomenal! Vindaloo is spicy but great!!! Tons of vegetarian options! Be there as soon as they open to not have to wait.

There’s an a Chinese proverb that goes something like, ‘A man without a smiling face must not open a shop’. It’s part of the experience, and you will definitely feel it.The food as a whole is very good considering it’s hard to get Indian food in the desert. The prices are a bit steep and you would feel better about it if they threw the rice in for free as a side. On the bright side, they do have an excellent wine and beer selection so there’s a reason to dine in.

When restaurants lament how much their business is struggling, sometimes it's not a mystery.I placed a mint chicken order for delivery; the order arrived with no rice. Only a sauce dish. I called to check if the rice was missing, and the person who answered told me rudely that each order is a la carte. This should really be noted clearly on their menu. My one item order totaled $49, and it wasn't even complete.Terrible experience, overpriced food, unfriendly staff... Good luck staying open the next 3 years.

As an Indian Wells resident I've wanted to try Indian Kitchen since it opened. My wife and I went for dinner on 1/12/2023.If you decide to go there are a couple of things you should know: 1) Children are not allowed; 2) Cell phones are not allowed. To both of these I say "bravo!"The atmosphere is nice - very minimal in a good way. The owner has done some interesting things with Ganesh that fit right into Indian Wells.I only gave 4-stars for service so let me explain why. First of all, the owner is very kind. He will explain anything on the menu, provide his recommendations and favorites, and legitimately wants you to have a good dining experience. The problem is that he does too much on his own, which leaves the two ladies working for him to stand around a bit too much. One of the ladies could have taken our drink order or brought us our check while the host was with other tables. The food is very good. I had the Chicken Mangalorean and my wife had the Shrimp Mangalorean. I ordered butter naan and she ordered onion naan. One side of rice was enough for both of us. All the food is delicious. For an Indian restaurant there is a surprisingly deep beer and wine menu; however, the draft beer is overpriced at $11 so I ordered a bottled beer for $7.For dessert I had a delicious piece of apple pie. Apple pie at an Indian restaurant - how? Why? The owner also owns Paradise Cafe at the intersection of Highway 74 and Highway 371 and brings his great apple pie recipe to Indian Kitchen. Again, bravo! So why only a four-star review? The bill (two entrees, two orders of naan, one order of rice, one piece of pie ala mode, one beer, one Coke) was nearly $113 including tax and a 15% tip. As much as I love Indian food and dining out I just can't justify that kind of price. Restaurant dining is quickly becoming something I "used to do" because the cost has gone way out of control. I don't have a solution - I wish I did.I hope this restaurant does well - the owner deserves good fortune.

Towards the end of the year, 2023, my flight crew and I stopped in for some dinner after a horrible hotel check-in experience at the Embassy Suites across the street - that is another story. As we approached the door, we were kind of taken by the signage on the "No Children...", but didn't think much of it until after the dining experience. We were promptly met by the owner, Neel, who sat us down. He was so pleasant. He suggested some lamb, chicken, and vegetarian dishes based on our likes. We shared our dishes amongst us. Stunning flavors we had too! We had leftovers for the next day. Absolutely, one of the best Northern Indian restaurants I have ever been to in a long time. The atmosphere was warm, relaxing, and quiet enough to have an enjoyable experience. Now I understand why there wasn't any distractions - No children and no children's parents parenting their children. So... refreshing! Thank you Neel for the experience. I am looking forward to my next visit you.

Another great family run restaurant in Palm Desert. The mangalorean chicken was delicious and the portions were large. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable and it wasn't too pricey. The only downside is that the menu offerings were somewhat limited.

I would not recommend this place to anyone - the owner is a rude arrogant guy with no hospitality!! Why run a restaurant if you are this low in welcoming guest. Racist and arrogant place serving Indian. May be serve another cuisine - Indians are known to have hospitality

What a great find! My son's gf loves Indian food and Yelp suggested here! Restaurant was easy to find, tucked in a corner of a shopping center. Indian Kitchen is tastefully decorated with several Ganesha's, the Hindu god for happiness and prosperity and of my husband's favorite deities. Service was good, ambiance was wonderful and food was delicious. It was fairly busy so all of our food did not come out of the kitchen at the same time and our serve seemed unclear on what we had received and what was still needed. The tandoori, the mango chutney and both the onion and cheese nan were wonderful! The owner came and checked on us toward the end of our meal and discussed the Ganeshas on display. We'll be back!! Ganesha smiles on Indian Kitchen!!

Great food.BUT...Ordered from there many times, then they decided that our house, WHICH HAS NOT MOVED, is all of a sudden not within their delivery range. What the hell is that about?Screw you then, Indian Kitchen.

I have to say I was skeptical....My family and I had an amazing meal here! The flavors, the service, and to top it all off...you have to try the apple pie a la mode. Everything is homemade. Neel provided a wonderful dining experience for us. WE will be back!!! Thank you!!!

They don’t allow children inside the restaurant. We took 30mins detour just to know that kids are not allowed inside the restaurant. We had 10yr old son with usKid-friendliness: Children are now allowed inside the restaurant.
