First, we requested main dining room and we were in the bar. As was going to say something, but my wife told me to leave it alone. Being a start husband, I did. Second, the food was mediocre at best. Definitely not like on past visits. The service overall was fine and everyone was very nice. I'm not sure we'll return for sometime.
We have always have had a great time at this restaurant. We have been here over 28 times and tonight was still as great. Service great management great even down to busboys all friendly. how everything is . kung pao chicken is delicious and was General Tso's chicken . This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Coachella Valley By far and we will be back !!
The fare at Joy is nothing special--typical Chinese dishes had mushy noodles, gelatinous sauces, scant meat, particularly shrimp (only 4 medium shrimp in my entree). Portions were over-sized, except for on appetizers--2 spring rolls per order for the price is outrageous, especially since rolls were overcooked, chewy and rubbery. I would not use "energetic" to characterize the noise level--it was loud to the point of being unpleasant. Dinner conversation was impossible,...
