The Cafe at Shield's is a beautiful little patio, mostly shaded with umbrellas on a hot day, with a musician performing unobtrusively on the weekends. The food, coffee, and drinks are good. Try the chilaquiles, yum! The table service at the gets a bit backed up on weekends, so give yourself time to wait for a table, and time to wait for a server, and time to wait for your food. The paths through date farm were closed due to high winds, even though it was very still and perfectly...

This is the perfect place for breakfast and lunch in Palm Springs. I enjoyed my experience here so, so much and can’t wait to go back.

It’s full of locals and lots of families, you can tell many of the people dining there have been coming for a long time. It’s super casual but has such a wonderful, special ambiance. There was live music playing, and the patio is so well covered and shaded that it’s very comfortable.

Our two plates came out room temp, rice just a tad much on the garlic. My pancake could've been warmer as well. The date jam was actually tasty, but the cut dates were a lil harder then I was expecting. Service could've been a lil more attentive as well.
