I didn't get refunded for the danish I ordered that they were out of. I even double-checked if I would get some kind of verification of the refund and they said it would show correctly when the charge settled on my card.
They don't have a number to call on their website and the number on the email receipt didn't work.
I went ahead and just disputed the charge with my bank--adding one more thing to worry about to my day ??
Feeling like places trying to pull a fast one on you is a frustrating experience. Always note your receipts until charges finalize.
Update:
Now they refund (Oct 25, 2024, 10:17:45 AM). Only after I leave a negative review and dispute the charge, 2 days after my visit, do they (so quickly) get to refunding. ?
The best Matcha drink I’ve had so far, made exactly the way I wanted!
The ingredients are high-quality.
Don’t be discouraged by the small outdoor seating when you arrive—there’s a spacious, cozy area in the back you can access after ordering.
The seating area is bright and sunny, with lyric-free music, creating the perfect, distraction-free vibe.
People are working, reading, or chatting quietly, making it a great spot to focus and get things done.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
Added to my list of good cafes in LA.

what a place! food is good and actually not as expensive as i expected at a place like this. it has a very modern/trendy vibe to it, and after you order they send you back to the “cyber lounge” where you can eat (and in my case, crush your brother at chess). i don’t know if they have some tesla/space x relation, but there is a lot of that in the building. other than that, very cool place to hang out, would totally recommend for studying & such.

So I went here with a friend to discuss our business. Even though it was crowded it was a beautiful space to hangout and talk business. Should’ve taken a few photos but was really focused on business. Will be going back soon to see the co-working and podcast space. Definitely gonna shoot some contact here. Also the Naughty Avocado Toast was ???.

Super cool spot to hang out solo or with a group of friends. I tried one of the featured latte drink and also one of the matcha drinks too. Both were super delicious. Also had a bit of an appetite and tried 2 of the menu items both also very good. Would come back to hang and try other items on the menu.

They are absolutely killing it. Everything had so much attention to detail, flavors on point from the pastry to sandwiches to drinks. Cannot recommend enough.

What a great discovery for breakfast in Inglewood, the super friendly staff, the very good coffees, and the spectacular toast and muffin... without a doubt a place to repeat.

I’ve been coming here for over a year and here are my thoughts:
Food:
- I always tell my friends who check this place out to not eat here. Food is old, cold, not fresh. My friend once got moldy toast.
-drinks are the only highlight, but still not that great compared to the other cafe a block away.
Service:
- there’s only one guy (with the beard) who is super friendly. If it weren’t for him, I’d give this place 1 star.
- I asked someone, nicely, if I could have my area wiped down, and he just handed me a spray and paper towels… when I came back to quietly return the spray, he said “sorry we are just understaffed.” I don’t understand why the drinks and food are expensive if they are going to be understaffed and have a customer do their job? At least I could have had my drink reimbursed or a free pastry or something for the free labor that I am paying for.
Atmosphere:
- it’s very pretty and picturesque, but that’s it.
- there’s many flies, tables are often dirty, couches are kinda gross
- sometimes the music is obnoxiously loud
- I like that there’s board games
Conclusion:
This cafe doesn’t offer the experience that is expected with the high prices of the drinks and food. This place gets worse and worse each time I visit, where it was amazing at first. Obviously, they have the means to staff more people because of the expensive drinks/food AND the vehicles they’ve recently been flaunting around as decoration.
I just come here now when I need a new scenery from my WFH job but I’m going to pivot somewhere else from now on.

Very unique flavors that you won’t see in my places! The hibiscus matcha is very tart and delicious just don’t get it extra sweet because it is very sweet. Also they have a very spacious area for studying with plenty of seatings

As digital nomads, we try out various coffee shops in every city we visit. This morning we came up with an unexpected gem in Inglewood California.
We headed into town at 8:00 a.m. to do some work before going over to SoFi stadium to watch the Chargers and Chiefs.
Awakening is one of the coolest coffee shops in the world. It's spacious, colorful and they have Wi-Fi with 100 down and about 10 up. They have incredible lattes along with espresso tonic, pour over coffees and a good selection of tea. A great place to get some work done.
The only downside to this place is they serve the drinks in plastic there is not an option for coffee mugs or glassware. Drinking a pour over coffee or an espresso tonic in plastic is just wrong. ?
So if you are ever in Inglewood, which is now a hub for some of the best events arenas in Los Angeles, definitely beat the traffic and arrive early to check out this coffee house.
