A friend of mine invited me to lunch here and it was my first time ever hearing about this place. When we arrived around 2 p.m. the place was not crowded, it was very warm and pleasant. The setting is beautiful and the place is spotless! We decided to sit at the bar and enjoy the company of George the bartender (whom he and I share the same birthday Dec. 13. So we made it a celebration!! We ordered Tequila shots, Margaritas and sushi rolls. Happy hour was all day and the sushi deal was buy one get one free! Everything was delicious.. definitely will be going back to see my twin George again! The other waiters were friendly and welcoming. ššš½š«”

I've been here a few times and since my daughter is in town I thought I'd take her and my mom to something relatively local, although I had other options in mind. Atmosphere was fun, ordered 3 margaritas š¹ and food. The worst I've ever had with them. Burrito šÆ was cold. Daughter's Burrito was cold and overloaded with bean, and mom's enchiladas had mushy, cold shrimp. I'm not here to hate, but I won't be back. I can't apologize when I'm the customer, and I was pulling for you guys. Best of luck to you and your guests. I'm good.

Stopped by this place before heading to the Mana concert. We didn't make reservations and upon our arrival, the place was crazy packed. We were hesitant to go in but we did. The wait wasn't long, maybe 10 minutes before we sat down. The guy singing the Mana songs was awesome! Great entertainment while we waited for our food. The hospitality was awesome. I did take some time for our food to show up but damn was it worth the delicious food š the burrito and sushi I ordered was out of this world. My wife's dish was also delicious!! If you arein the neighborhood, stop by you will not regreat it. Or if you are headed to sofi/forum make your way there before hand. Trust..

āļø 1 Star ā Terrible Customer Service
I called ahead and was told no reservation was needed for a party of 3 because they had plenty of space. When we arrived around 6:30pm on Saturday (11/22/25), the hostess made us wait a long time just to give our name. After that, we waited about 25 minutes with no update.
I noticed open seats at the bar, so we sat there. We finished our food and drinks, and our name was never calledāour phone never rang either. It makes me wonder if we would have ever been seated at all if we hadnāt taken the bar seats ourselves.
To make things worse, the restrooms were dirty, which added to the overall bad impression.
I didnāt get the hostess or managerās name, but the service was disorganized and unprofessional. Very disappointing experience.
I couldn't chug my margarita fast enough to escape the god-awful stench of the rotten lobster they served the table next to us. Salsa tastes like tomato paste.

Excellent food and service! Our server Alondra was on point. Her drink recommendation was wonderful. We will ask for Alondra every time we visit going forward.

The wait for food wasn't long as well as delicious. The music being played wasn't appealing for the atmosphere.

Food was on point, but me (Dominicano) and my Mexican girlfriend, didn't understand why the bartender had to serve everyone of color except for the Hispanic waitresses. The waitresses had picking and choosing, whom they wanted to serve, and ignore customers of color. We definitely experienced racism and hope everyone, including management to be highly aware of the bird brain waitresses. Gracias

The owner truly makes this place special!
Beyond the great food and cozy atmosphere, what really stood out at Martinās Cocina y Cantina was the ownerās incredible hospitality. He personally greeted us, checked in throughout our meal, and made sure we felt completely at home. You can tell he truly cares about every guest. That kind of personal attention is rareāand it made our visit unforgettable. Thank you Martin we definitely will be backāŗļø
I have to describe our experience here as awful. My husband and I were on a double date and we both ordered the mojarra. Our waitress brought their plates out and said ours would be right out. The next time she returned was with an apology: I'm sorry, she said, another table ordered the mojarras and they got the last two. By this time, our friends were well into their meals. We had to reorder and I settled for a 28 dollar taco plate. It was not only overpriced, it was yucky. The tortillas were falling apart into mush and even though I asked for no dairy in my plate, both tacos came with a creamy so-called chipotle sauce drowning out every other flavor. The waitress went to the trouble of asking if I wanted black beans or refried, but no beans ever came. This meal was a bust. I've been to the smaller, older Martin's further north on La Brea and it was far better than this one. There's no way I can recommend this spot.
