Went to Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles for breakfast, I will say the food is very pricy but it is very delicious and the service is great too.

A horrible dining experience
The food was right up there at a level of the newest beginning cook. Grits were watery, lumpy and barely warm. The chicken sausages were hard, dried and inedible. Eggs were good but again barely warm.
I attribute this to the kitchen and the wait staff because food was inedible and served way past being cooked as evidenced by temperature of food. This was first visit and my last visit.
On the posistive side, there was ample parking though it was a packed house and two: the restroom was clean. It those were the only two things I was interested in, I would have stayed home.

Mouth watering meat off the bone fried chicken like I have never had before. The waffle. Cinnamon crispy. I had the country boy. My husband had number 5. The omelet had huge chunks of chicken and just the right amount of cheese.

This was my second time ordering from here on DoorDash. I was impressed the first time, but this right here is ridiculous. I didn’t receive what I ordered, and for almost 30.00 I’m so disappointed.
Chicken was extremely dry and not edible. Of course DoorDash only gave me 5.00 smh.

First time visiting here, the parking lot was packed which is always a good indication. In spite of packed lot , we got in right away and were seated quickly and given menus . Wait person was attentive and took our orders promptly. The wait for our food was a little long but it was ok even given that a party seated after we ordered were served first.
When food was delivered it was immediately apparent that the two of is who ordered chicken sausage did NOT have the same sausage patties. Mine were hard, dry and inedible. Grits were the worst that I've even seen : lumpy, watery, bland and barely warm (and did I mention luuumpy ). Eggs and biscuit were good but barely warm. I was able to eat eggs and biscuit or I would've left hungry. Had asked for water with lemon slice with my meal (fellow dinners were having beverages ). They did not have any lemon. My water glass had dried waffle batter on the outside, my son had to scrape it off with a knife after attempting ut to rub it off with a napkin just to see how hard it was. Thankfully, I had a bottle of water in my purse.
My companions didn't fare much better but will do their own reviews.
I never send my food back because never sure what's coming back with the replacement items.
Not sure if food sat to long after being cooked and before being delivered which caused the temperature drop and allowed the diners who came in after us to be served first.
My son left a 25% tip , attempted 30 % but YES, I did take the extra 5% off table ,cash on table $25.00
We paid with debit card . Restrooms were clean.

The food was very dry and bland. Our server didn't give us any refills, only got our order and drinks and passed us 1 more time to check up on us when the food got there and after that she disappeared and didn't check on us, it didn't help that we needed water after we got served dry biscuits when on the menu it says buttery biscuits. All in all I would not come back here again.

You better have an appetite, the portions are large ! The wait staff were friendly and engaging. Great family atmosphere. The food was delicious ! Highly recommend eating here.

If you've lived in the south, you'll find this to be "ok" chicken and waffles. But it's one of those LA things you should try.
Got a 1/4 chicken (breast and thigh) with 2 waffles and a fried egg.
Food came out quickly but was not hot, as if it had been made for someone else and sat for a while.
Chicken was good, nice size portions. Waffles were fine, very thin, good consistency but not much flavor.
Service was friendly if a little slow. They were busy so I don't fault her on that, and did a lot of takeout orders too.
Total came to $35 with tip (no drink) which didn't feel like a great deal but I was full when I left and have paid more for less..

It's one of my favorite breakfast places in SoCal.
The homemade gravy is delicious when you combine it with the chicken and waffle. If you are afraid to try this combination, you have to try it. It is delicious.
If I have to say something "negative" about this place, it is that they regularly do not have everything ready for opening time. (800am)
Sometimes, the gravy is ready 30-45 minutes after opening, and several times, they don't even have sodas until around 9am.
The service is usually very good and they always check tables to make sure you're good or need anything

The chicken is amazing....the waffles my goodness what can I say? It is Devine. If you haven't tried them when you go to California you must try ?.
