If you are from Guadalajara and are craving a legit torta hogada, carne en su jugo this is the place. They have other stuff but the torta hogada is why i go there. My kids loved the fish tacos and fresas con crema.

We always get the tortas ahogadas, those are hard to come by with the original bolillo and flavor. But this spot always hits the spot with their yummy tortas just like Gdl πŸ‡²πŸ‡½

Strip mall restaurant but that isn't a bad thing. The food was very tasty and the staff very friendly. Sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful day

Absolutely delicious! This business deserves recognition because they truly care about their customers satisfaction. I have been coming here since I was in high school and the food is delicious & fresh every single time with filling portions. My favorite is the barbacoa tacos con cebollitas y salsa roja. Don't forget to ask for the salsa's because they are delicious!

The service staff, both counter and grill, were friendly and helpful. We ordered Shrimp Baja tacos and they were delicious!
Clean. It was a pleasant experience.
Parking can get tight but there is street parking available... after all, it's LAπŸ™‚

Very disappointed as an owner of my own establishment I can say that this food quality was not it, not only did they not have cream for their coffee we left our food at their table basicly uneaten. I heard about this place from a close friend and had good expectations but idk if it was the timing of my visit or what for one the shrimp tacos had a taste of old oil and the rice and beans that came with it you can tell where a day old. Now the main reason I visited was the torta ahogada which I've had plenty of when I say I couldn't bite thru the bread or even rip it with my hands that's an understatement and I know the bread is suppose to be tougher on the outside it's not my first torta ahogada but when I say this was inedible I mean it we also got a plate of tacos dorados de papa the papa was plain no flavor no nothing will I ever recommend this place a million times no, save your money.

The tortas ahogadas are amazing the bread they use is crunchy perfect and the flavor overall of the torta is the best in LA !! not to exaggerate idk if my taste buds changed since I came from gdl but these tortas are even better than at actual Guadalajara !!

Came for lunch on a Thurs. Great food, clean establishment. Not a lot of seating and busy but was able to find a spot to sit. Umbrellas outside provide ample shade. Chicken torta was delicious, bread was crispy and meat was soft. Vampire drink was also great. Service was quick.

Tortuga is an original mexicana place from Guadalajara. The food is delicious! I am always looking forward to going back for more!
