ownership’s apparent MAGA fandom and racist vibes
great local oyster. Good service. Cash and Zelle only
Not only is this place the cutest, the vibe is so chill and the food is outstanding. The oysters tasted fresh oceanic and from about 200 yards away! Clearly a place for locals and tourists alike
We sat at the bar and Matisse was the absolute best. He made great recommendations, attentive , professional anbd friendly and even surprised me with dessert for my birthday🥹.
You’ve got to try the berry crumble with whipped cream! Thanks Matisse!!
My husband David and I have dined here so many times over the years and is a much loved dining destination (we have even stayed locally just to be able to eat here late). NYE, anniversaries, etc. And yet...
During our most recent visit the food remained the same as always but the service was of a very poor quality. Our server didn't know the menu, couldn't/wouldn't make wine pairing suggestions, indicated that she didn't even know what certain dishes were called, and was confused by our desire to share all the aspects of the meal.
And if that were not enough, she overcharged us. We pay via zelle, and I submitted payment as I got the check, but realized later that evening that we had been charged too much and that my tip was too high as a result (I still left her 20%). Now the restaurant isn't responding to messages and isn't reimbursing us the overpaid amount. This really sucks as we otherwise really like this place and would love to continue coming for wonderful meals.
I am hopeful this matter can still be corrected.
The star of the show are the broiled oysters and the sole. Absolutely delicious. Corn chowder also very good. They don't take reservations and it is a very popular venue so go early. Highly recommended!
One of that places that in case you are near, you should definitely re-route for
This place was amazing! Hands down 10 out of 10 would recommend! Definitely going to be back service was bomb! Food was fresh! ?

I booked a private dinner at the Saltwater Oyster Depot a few days ago for a team of executives at my company. They all raved about the entire experience. Each course was curated and delicious. The service was awesome and there was even one guest who historically didn't like oysters, but the team changed her mind! I'll also mentioned that the owner was really easy to work with, super accommodating to food allergies, etc..Thank you for a great experience.

Gorgeous ambiance right on the water. Tasteful and sleek. Ordered beers and oysters and it was almost $80 which burned a small hole in my wallet.

Beautiful oysters, both raw and broiled! Really good sauces on the broiled oysters. The melon, cucumber, burrata salad was excellent as well!

Delicious food. The oysters are locally sourced and arrive fresh off a shipping boat the same day. Carefully curated menu with fresh highly sources ingredients.
One warning: beware of the over-privileged, entitled clientele with an attitude. They frequent this place, but It is Marin after all.

We had an absolutely amazing meal and evening last night here. Broiled oysters, fried squash blossoms, fresh halibut, both delicious desserts and a lovely bottle of Chenin Blanc! It was a perfect ending to a 10 mile hike! Darling Ariella (hope I spelled her name correctly) served us and was delightful and so accommodating! We will be back!!
