We have been doing a yearly trip here, andrew takes his time to explain each wine history and his wines are amazing specially their merlot. My bf isn't a big wine guy but when we are in the area he always wants to go here to get A merlot bottle and try any wines that are new to us.

One of the owners and wine maker, Andrew, was our server. He was obviously very knowledgeable about the wines. Some unusual varietals including mission (which we had not heard of), sangiovese, tempranillo and petite sirah. The winery offered a chocolate pairing for the reds. Meatballs, olive oil tasting and wine. Fun experience. The wines were enjoyable. Well worth a stop.

Tanis Winery is a hidden gem among the many wineries in the Amador hills. Yesterday was our first visit to Tanis, amidst a week-end of visits to our favorite wineries surrounding Plymouth. What a pleasant surprise!These are easily some of the best wines we bought over the three days. Full-bodied reds with distinct tastes and aromas. Put Andrew's place, the owner, on your list of stops! We will be back again!
This was the first stop on my bachelorette weekend in Amador County, and it was my favorite winery of the whole weekend! The wine was incredible - I wish I had bought more. And the owner was so nice. I can't recommend Tanis enough!
