Had to swing by Boudin SF Sourdough in Irvine, CA since it’s right on the way to the airport. Couldn’t resist my all-time fave soups—clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl… and a bowl of broccoli cheddar. 🥖🧀
Nothing fancy, just pure comfort food. Love it—always worth the stop!

We ordered from the kiosk so I can’t rate the customer service. We ordered 2 bread bowls, Caesar salad and a pepperoni pizza. We got back to our hotel and everything was in the bag! Thankful for that. However, the pizza looked a bit strange. It honestly looked and tasted like it was pieced together with old slices. Reminded me of Chuck E. Cheese pizza. It didn’t taste freshly made. Very disappointed. The rest of the food was good.

Ordered a half sandwich and soup combo. The bread was over toasted and half of the avocado smeared was brown. Just awful

I had the personal size pizza and found it really good. The sauce,cheese and crust tasted great. My wife had the clam chowder bowl and it was also very good. Baked bread here is also freshly made with all sorts of variations.

I dont understand why this is such an overlooked lunch place! The clam chowder is perfect, amazing sourdough bread, great pizza, they even have sugar cookies!!
It looks like the Corner Bakery, but the bread is way better. The smell of the bakery is awesome.

The taste of the butter nut squash soup was good but I couldn't believe that they still serve scorching hot soup in a plastic bowl and also the half dead salad on a plastic plate for the high amount that they charge.The sourdough is great but the cafe's food is so so.
Boudin is one of our absolute favorite places to order from. Buuuut, the food is never consistent. Sometimes the hot sandwiches or melts are burnt and sometimes the cheese isn't even melted. Sometimes a milkshake is really milky, sometimes it's way too thick (it's not that it's melted vs colder, it's the taste that's noticeable.) I mean, as much as I'm complaining you'd think I'd just stop eating here but when they do it right, it's so good!
