Boudin is one of our absolute favorite places to order from. Buuuut, the food is never consistent. Sometimes the hot sandwiches or melts are burnt and sometimes the cheese isn't even melted. Sometimes a milkshake is really milky, sometimes it's way too thick (it's not that it's melted vs colder, it's the taste that's noticeable.) It’s Boudin Sourdough! Good service. Simple vibe. A variety of bread soup bowl options, and sammiches. We had a clam chowder and a butternut squash bread bowl. Hot soup. Fresh bread bowl. Straightforward. This chain is a step above fast food and is its own specialty. Parking is confusing, but we followed signs for “retail parking.”
Wanted to love this Boudin SF, and the food itself was a good reminder of why I like them. BUT the location is letting them down. Dirty tables everywhere, a messy drink area, and a really slow kitchen despite the staff presence. It felt like there was a disconnect in priorities. Plus, the stale bread was a letdown. If they can get the operational side sorted out, this could be a great spot.
