Limited menu. It appeared breaded chicken dish came out of a freezer. Not individually prepared from fresh chicken breast. No non-alcoholic beer available. Can't believe corporate decision makers have decided to turn away all of that income. Not terrible, but not deserving a return trip.
The restaurant itself looks rundown and rather dirty. The bathroom was a little frightening.. The food was awful. I rarely send any food back, but I had to that night. I ordered the chicken marsala. The chicken was so tough. It was hard to cut. The gravy was black and tasted burnt. Our friend ordered a chicken salad and his chicken was also so tough. He had to send it back. I ordered something else instead which was overly greasy and overly salty, but at that point I was done. An Italian restaurant where you have to order bread at $6.99 for four small pieces seems a little excessive and ridiculous. I definitely will not be back.
I went to Brio Restaurant in the Irvine Spectrum yesterday, November 7th, and during the past year, I have visited this restaurant about six times. I'm writing this review because I’ve noticed how this restaurant has been degrading its service over time.
Brio now has a policy of charging $5.99 for what used to be complimentary bread, which is fine, it’s not a big deal. The problem arose when the waitress didn’t offer the bread at the beginning of the service. Based on previous visits, we were expecting it, so after waiting for 20 minutes, we asked her about it. She replied, “Oh, now the bread has a price. Do you want it?”
So why didn’t she offer the bread in the first place instead of letting us wait hungry for 20 minutes? After that, the waitress brought us one wrong plate, making us wait even longer.
The whole experience was ruined by the unnecessary waiting, not because of the bread’s price (which is fine) but because the waitress didn’t do her job properly. We are not planning to go back again.

There was seven of us, this is the first time everyone was very disappointed in their meal. The only thing that was good, was the one eggplant, shrimp, appetizer, and the bread food was terrible.
Some of their food wasnt what we expected. One of the salads that was ordered was just arugula and chicken, not even close to worth paying for!
Nice upscale Italian food in the Spectrum Center. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Bathrooms were 4 out of 5 stars, but the food was excellent. Went there with a friend's family for a wedding dinner. Never been before but I would go back. The world series with the Dodgers was on so it was a little louder than normal - consider this is in LA and the Dodgers are THE team everyone loves here. Overall the the staff was friendly and quick and the food was outstanding. The parking was tough, limited to a couple small places nearby and a garage but overall it was manageable. If you drive a big truck the garage isnt the best option as youre limited to first floor or valet - or a decent walk. So know that before you arrive. I had the Lobster Bisque and it was fantastic!

Everything was great about our early dinner with some friends: food, service, and atmosphere as well as the menu.

Ok. Over-priced entrees, and they no longer provide bread & butter for free. Not a good value unless using a promotion (my opinion). Wife was unimpressed by chicken dish. She thought the chicken tasted like it was pre-cooked and warmed up on grill (a little rubbery). I thought her chicken tasted good. The spaghetti I ordered tasted good. Nice restaurant atmosphere.
Glad we gave Brio another try after a really bad experience several months ago. Our recent dinner was back to the same excellent meal we had come to expect for several years.
We had a business dinner at Brio in Spectrum Irvine last Tuesday. The atmosphere was nice, but the food was just okay. The kitchen really needs to take things more seriously if they want to fix it and step up their game. Service was decent, but overall, the experience didn’t quite meet expectations for a place with such potential.

I was looking for some amazing italian food and this place was just that. My expresso martini was a bit strong but great! Food was so yummy!
The staff was nice and attentive, however there was nothing much of an ambience, the meals are too heavy and definitely not worth the price!
This was disappointing Our actual server was new and trying - so wasn't a “fault” of his - but the food was overpriced and very basic (price was a bit much for what you get). When our food came out, by a different “runner” (also brand new hire) - didn't know what the food was to call out to give to the right person (6 top), when we figured it out and she started grating the cheese on top, while on the last person, another server came up (kind of think it could have been the manager, honestly) he literally took the cheese from her hand and said he'd “be right back”, our person asked to hang on for 1 second to him, he again said, “be right back” ... and he walked about 8 tables away and started putting cheese on their food .... He then came back and started to put the cheese on the remaining dish at our table... I have seriously never seen anything like this - it was beyond laughable - for our $300 bill at our table - with all the options at the spectrum - I wish we had went somewhere else. ... I was not going to leave a review, but with the 3rd email I got asking me to leave one - here it is
the food was average, the portions were too small, and the pasta and salad weren't fresh. The steak salad only had a tiny piece of meat, and overall, I was not happy with either the food or the portion size.
