Caspian Mediterranean kitchen

Amazing food, service, and ambiance, but slightly over priced. We tried the Kaleh Pacheh, Barg, Koobideh, and the Mezze Platter. The Kaleh Pacheh was excellently prepared and well cooked, and presented nicely with a side of pickles and Sangak bread. The Barg kabob was by far the most amazing dish, very tasty, well marinated, juicy, and perfectly cooked and presented.

We’ve been coming to this restaurant since its Irvine location and have supported it for many years, so this review is genuinely disappointing to write.

Unfortunately, our most recent visit was a complete letdown. The food quality was extremely poor — several dishes tasted like they had been sitting out and were plated from trays rather than cooked fresh, which is not acceptable for this type of restaurant. The service was a 0/5. We were told there would be nighttime entertainment and performances but it was non existent on a Saturday night.

When concerns were politely brought up, we were met with rudeness and treated as if we were the problem for saying something. There was no accountability or sincere attempt to resolve the issues, and the interaction felt dismissive rather than professional.

What’s most upsetting is the clear decline in quality and hospitality compared to what this place used to be. If management has changed, it unfortunately shows. We won’t be returning and can no longer recommend it based on this experience.

This was our second visit, and unfortunately it confirmed that this place is going downhill fast. The food and drinks are massively overpriced for the poor quality you get. Everything—from the food to the service—has gone from bad to worse.

The food is not authentic Persian at all. I am Persian and eat this cuisine regularly, and what’s served here simply tastes awful. The flavors are wrong, poorly prepared, and disappointing across the board.

The music is unbearably loud and obnoxious, making the experience even worse. Most of the waitstaff are not Persian, and it honestly feels like the same applies to the kitchen—because the food clearly lacks any understanding of Persian cooking.

This restaurant seriously needs to reevaluate who they hire and what they serve. I hope the owner actually reads these reviews, because this place is damaging its own reputation.

Everything was shockingly bad. The food was not authentic Persian at all. I should know I’m Persian. For instance, the salad Shirazi didn’t even look like one, let alone taste like one. The service was lacking. The atmosphere was bland and boring. The prices were way over the top, for what they offer. If I could give them a zero star I would, enough said. Try other Persian restaurants, this one is so disappointing, Not to worry they won’t be here long. how dare they overcharge for subpar food? Done and Done

We went for thanksgiving with reservations. It was a buffet . My wife had a Bariatric surgery and l requested the server showing him Proof saying she cannot eat less than half plate . He initially said “we will charge kid’s price” as there are no chefs for menu item today and at the end saying my manager didn’t approve. Also there are kids in patio eating and they allow smokers in patio . We ordered ice cream and the server forgot about us and my kid was waiting for a long time . Still I didn’t make a single complaint and paid the full cost for 2 adults and tipped 20% of the cost. Treat your customers well and show them kindness and empathy without any discrimination

Caspian Buffett food was the worst Persian food I ever had. Paid $30 per head. The Caspian in Irvine used to be good.

I love the couple who preform the old coroner covers, we have seen them a few times when coming on evenings during the weekend!!! They are so cute and we love hearing them play!!!

You pay more to enjoy the atmosphere and live music. When making a reservation, they know they don't have room inside, but they don't tell you. Outside, the music is very weak and you can't see anything. The tables against the outer wall are very cold and heaters are not enough to make it warm. The food will get cold before you even start eating.
