Absolutely loved my experience at Dada Shabu Shabu Buffet in Irvine! Everything was super fresh and delicious, but the marinated crab was on another level - rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Easily the best I've had anywhere in Irvine.

I don’t think I can go anywhere else for shabu-shabu anymore — Dada is the best!
The unlimited salad bar is amazing, and the tteokbokki, fried chicken, and jokbal are all delicious!
I ate tons of shabu-shabu and even finished with patbingsu for dessert.
You can enjoy everything in one place, and the value for money is just perfect!

The food used to be great 3+ years ago but now, I dont know what happened. I been getting upset stomach from eating here and the meat quality is alot lower. Got seated and I try to get my sauce filled for my bowl but the bottle was not sealed properly and got messy around the table. The staff was late to help on getting it cleaned so I had to get up and use the bath towel from the restroom to clean the mess up myself. I asked for more meat and waiting for some good time but I didn't get helped. They were too busy helping other customers. I highly recommend The Wagyu Factory at the district at tustin. Better service and better meats plus you won't have stomach issues on food. Won't be coming back here or support this place anymore.

i want to give - negative
Be careful when eating at Dada Shabu. I got food poisoning, but they didn't even take responsibility for my medical bills, making me look like a weirdo. I got food poisoning from eating there. I hadn't eaten since the night before, and I hadn't even eaten breakfast.
It was my husband's birthday, so I went for lunch. I often go to Dadah Shabu Shabu, but I've only had lunch there. But yesterday was Labor Day, so I went for dinner all day.
I looked at the menu and saw lamb, which I hadn't had for lunch, so I ordered it. Everyone else in the group didn't want lamb, so I put the meat in a pot and ate it alone. However, within 30 minutes of eating, my stomach suddenly started hurting so much that I had to go to the bathroom and have diarrhea. After that, I couldn't go home and had to stay in the bathroom at a nearby market for an hour. I barely made it home and called the restaurant to complain. They said they would notify the owner and get back to me.
After two hours, I still hadn't heard from him. I called again, and he said he'd gotten in touch with the owner 20 minutes ago and would get back to me. Three hours later, I finally heard from the owner.
The owner apologized profusely and offered me a refund. I was still having diarrhea, and I told him that if it continued, I would go to the hospital.
My diarrhea and vomiting didn't stop until 6:30, and since it was Labor Day, the hospital was closed, so I went to the urgent care around 6:30.
I was diagnosed with food poisoning at the hospital and texted my medical records to him. He apologized again, and I accepted it. He didn't even ask how much the hospital bill was, and said he'd refund me the money for the food.
I was grateful his concern. but around 8:30 PM, my daughter texted me saying she felt like she was going to vomit.
My daughter isn't a vegetarian, but she doesn't eat shabu-shabu meat. However, she absolutely loves shabu-shabu broth. That day, she said her pot wasn't enough and ate the broth I'd added lamb to.
I sent the text message my daughter sent to him. I told him it seemed like it was mostly about the lamb. That's because everyone else ate it with me and nothing seemed wrong, but my daughter and I were the only ones who were having issues with the lamb.
Suddenly, the owners attitude changed. The reply he sent to me was
I see. ㅠ We are not a barbecue place, and we boil food, so we don't understand how something like this could happen. ㅠㅠ As for the food ingredients, as you can see in the store, I personally check and manage the hygiene every day.
After that, he didn't respond to my texts, my daughter had a stomachache all night, and I still have diarrhea today. When I woke up this morning, the food bill had been refunded. Isn't that normal? He was so irresponsible and refused to offer any compensation.

I’ve been coming to this hot pot restaurant regularly since moving to Irvine, and overall I enjoy it. The place is always clean, and the staff are consistently friendly and attentive. The hot food station has a smaller selection, but the items are flavorful. I also appreciate the variety in the seafood and vegetable sections.
That said, given the price point ($29.99 for weekday lunch, $37.99 for dinner and weekends), I wish the meat quality matched the rest of the experience. Some of the cuts appear to be formed (restructured) meat, and offering higher-grade cuts would really elevate the value.

Food is good. I like how they let you self serve your own broth where you can pick at the food court. Fried chicken is good. Having shaved ice the best part after a meal. They keep the court nicely organized. Servers are always on task to check up with you and clean your area of unwanted dishes. Its cramped but I can see that is to control traffic to be on task keeping the area clean.

My coworker brought me here for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised! We were seated right away, the staff were very welcoming and sweet, and the food was delicious! The restaurant is kept very clean and neat.
The food bar was fully stocked! They had a variety of flavors/seasonings for your broth, fresh veggies/tofu, and seafood, cooked items including fried chicken, fried rice, short rib patties, tempura, and lastly, they have a yummy shaved ice station for dessert! We chose options 1-3 for meat, which was all beef, but they have chicken and pork options available as well. Everything was so delicious! I'll definitely be coming back here. This was the best hot pot l've had!

I do NOT recommend this place for large parties. They give you a 90 minute limit. And for a large party, ordering alone can take 30 minutes. They also have alcohol. Imagine you have to order your food, your alcohol, and feed your children in less than 90 minutes. We did not even have enough time to order a second dish. Buffet by name only.

This is my go-to Shabu spot! It's the perfect place for me to catch up with friends from Orange and LA County, especially since I'm based in San Diego County. They have an awesome variety of ingredients and meats to choose from. I fell in love with Shabu when I was stationed in South Korea, and it’s been one of my favorites ever since!
