Roberto Martinez was an amazing waiter today. A professional and kind man.

David and Aurelia were so great to take care of our large party. With 12+ people, orders were taken and brought out in a timely manner. They constantly checked in. Will be back!
BEWARE!
There was a light rain, indoor bar seating area had about 10 leaks. In the booth my wife's purse was wet on one side my jacket on another. My wife suggest for the mess a wine would be nice. They charged us. The bill was $79. In the end. Gave them 2 new $50 gift cards. They said one had $50 the other $39. So in the end cost us $108. With tip.
We took $4. Out for the charged wine. But I feel they are dishonest. Never going back!

We went in and it was chaos. The lady I spoke with had an attitude so we ended up leaving and going to Chick-fil-A.
The place is understaffed I don’t blame the waitress I blame management for not having enough people to run the place
Waitress to forever to get our drink she gave us no silverware never came to refill our drinks
We also got sat down next to a family who’s kids where playing on our table as we tried to have our lunch we kindly asked to be seated somewhere else and where told they had no tables opened we asked for a refund and that’s the only way we where accommodated at a different table
Their brunch buffet was empty everything was cold
Overall this place is very bad managed
Great experience

We come here monthly for a business meeting - have for several years, its just my first year on the board. Sometimes the service is slow, but overall good experience. They always have our table ready for us!

Went here with my husband. Food was alright. Service was good. The manager Aurelia stopped by a few times and made sure we were enjoying our experience which we really appreciated and will come back because of this. Overall had a nice time.
Decent food, El Torito has always been satisfying. Love the corn cake! The service here was good and I really appreciated the manager, Aurelia, checking on my table, not once but twice. She seemed to care that we had a good experience. I'll be back the next time I have to drop off or pick someone up from the airport.
Gradually getting worse in both food quality and service. Im not sure we'll revisit here. Terrible service.

I decided to visit this restaurant for the first time because the Google reviews seemed decent and it’s close to my office. Unfortunately, my experience was so disappointing that I feel the need to leave this review to help other customers avoid going through the same unpleasant situation.
The food itself wasn’t bad, but it took over 15 minutes just for someone to come and take my order after I was seated, and more than 30 minutes in total for the food to arrive. The restaurant didn’t seem that busy, but the servers weren’t very friendly, and despite waving multiple times and trying to get their attention, they just kept walking past.
The bigger issue was the credit card charge. I’m not sure if this is a restaurant-wide issue or just one particular employee, but the final amount charged was different from what I signed. I clearly signed for $67, but when I checked my statement later, it showed $69. Luckily, I had kept my receipt, so I was able to confirm the discrepancy and figure out what had happened.
If you dine here, make sure to keep your receipt and double-check the final charged amount to avoid any issues like mine. I really hope the restaurant addresses and fixes this problem.

El Torito is located off MacArthur Blvd and Michelson Drive across the street from John Wayne Airport. It’s a good spot to stop at if you’re hungry, you want to avoid the premium prices restaurants inside the airport charge, and you have time for a sit down meal before catching your flight. If half stars were an option, I’d rate them a solid 3.5.
I recommend visiting on a Tuesday between 4-9 pm so you can take advantage of both their happy hour menu and Taco Tuesday. At the time of this review, El Torito is serving up street tacos with your choice of chicken, carnitas, al pastor and/or steak for only $3 each! I wouldn’t expect the highest quality Mexican food but I will say their food is consistent. They also offer great buffets during the holidays you’ll def need to make a reservation ahead of time for. Buen provecho!
