It's $7.49 for a small...as in a tiny little cup, no cone, no nothing. I've never seen a more expensive ice cream place in my life. Double the price for what you get anywhere else on the planet. Shocked.

Very good gelato and ice cream, almost same level as gelato paradiso in Laguna Beach. Very friendly staff and atmosphere. Highly recommended. We like the simple vanilla, raspberry, or mint chocolate chip.

Frost Gelato in the Irvine Spectrum is a tasty spot for gelato, the Italian version of ice cream. It's right next to the movie theatre. The people who started this shop fell in love with gelato in Italy and wanted to bring the same taste to America. They bring ingredients and machines from Italy so everything is really authentic. They've actually got quite a few locations across the U.S., including Arizona and Virginia. When you walk in, the place looks simple but welcoming. The cool blue and white décor is modern and clean. You can see the 12 to 15 different flavors of gelato in the display, which can make it pretty tough to choose. They make the gelato fresh every day, so it always tastes really good and fresh. Last time I was there they were just putting a few fresh batches out. I tried three flavors: passion fruit, coconut, and pistachio. The passion fruit was sweet but not too much, just right. The coconut tasted tropical and had these chewy bits in it. But my favorite was the pistachio - it was creamy and had a great nutty flavor. One of the best things about Frost Gelato is that it's sweet, but not overly sweet. This lets you really taste the flavors, like the fruity passion fruit or the rich pistachio. It can definitely hit the spot on a hot day. While it's not the cheapest treat, the portion sizes are pretty good.

Unsanitary staff probably health violations too. Here is a trip for the staff who helped me last night: always grab the spoon by the handle. Not the bowl - this is for the ice cream not your bare thumb. Then she put the spoon in the ice cream. Disgusting to say the least.
