The food at Il Fornaio Irvine is CONSISTENTLY super delicious! What a treat! And we love our friend of decades — Marcelo (the director)! He's on site very often and he always makes each guest that he speaks to feel special and part of the family!

We come here every year for My birthday. As usual, everything was wonderful! I had the special spaghetti with seafood. Yum! My husband had the sole. We also had the bread and olives. And they gave me a birthday dessert. Always great!

Another delicious dinner and this time they served rabbit!!! Fork tender in a light citrus sauce with handmade fettuccine and spinach. Wonderful!! Service was excellent!

My wife, niece and I attended a Daou wine dinner here last night. It was our first time to this restaurant. The bartender, before dinner, was great, and servers all provided a high level of service, maintained a good sense of humor during the busy special event. The wine and Daou reps were excellent. Atmosphere at the restaurant was excellent, particularly the center room where the event was being held. The food definitely was not near as good as anticipated. It was a pre-fixe menu with an entree choice. The canapé selection was near all fried food, and two pieces of cheese. The parmigiano was excellent, the other cheese smelled and tasted strongly and unpleasant, similar to sweaty clothing. The seared ahi with heirloom tomatoes was excellent and the highlight of the night. All three of us ordered the black cod entree. The mashed potatoes and broccolini were bland, the black cod was undercooked, wet, and tasted strongly of fish that was not fresh. None of the three of us ate more than a few bites from different parts of the entree, searching for something cooked properly and not fishy, and didn't find it. The dessert tart was decent, though the pastry crust was not particularly good. Presentation lacked a little as well, with a large black object on top that I suspect was a fig. Had the food been excellent, the price would have been acceptable; however, for the meal we were served, it was not a good value. I'm unsure if I would return to the Il Fornaio chain of restaurants as there are so many good, family/independently owned Italian restaurants deserving of business.

A special shout-out to Chris at the Irvine location, who truly elevated our visit with his warm, attentive service and spot-on recommendations. His knowledge of the menu and friendly demeanor made the evening even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back!

Their pasta and pizza are all good. Rigatoni all pasta and seafood pasta un the pictures were really good. It would be good start if you dont know what to order. Calamari was also good.

This was voted best for a reason! Everything on this menu was delicious. The calamari. The zuppa was stunning! Great service. Great drinks. Great food. You could relax here with some cocktails and enjoy your afternoon! Great for a date night!

I am motivated to right this review because their service was top notch! The attention to detail by staff whether it was refilling water or placing cutlery on the table was unmatched. We tried their Salmon and Pizza and it was great! Would love to come back again!

Yesterday I had the most great experience at your restaurant. The food was yummy and tasty and the quality was good. The office was so luxury that I had so many things to do for the kids. I would highly recommend this Plaza and Il fornaio
