This is not a vegan place, yes you will find vegan options. The restaurant is Southern spice.

Here's an actual recent review of this place.I had to order through Grubhub. Never got the notification for my order so I had to call.I called not only because of the delay of over 15 minutes past the promised time, also because there's no sign to help you find out where you pick up your food.I asked for my order to include utensils, which it didn't.Finally, the food was very bland and looked NOTHING like the pictures.

Good service, plenty of parking. Order from a online menu and contactless paying. Idli and chutneys were tasty, Sambhar a little bland. Biryani was tasty but peppery even for medium hot. Not too many Dhosa choices

Ordered a Veg Biryani, I should have learnt from my experience last year but, it always needs that second try/fail. I fell badly sick with a stomach infection, took me one week of recovery. I had ordered this 1-2 few times in the past as well but the quality was not bad. Had same experience last year and thought they had improved on their food quality. this tells me they are not consistent, and you have to be very lucky to order food on a day when Chef wasn't jaded.

So delicious! Where else can you get vegan tikka masala, butter tofu, saag tofu.. tell me, I wanna know! So hard to find. So pleased they offer so many vegan options beyond the normal chana, dal, bhindi, aloo we usually get. I missed having a creamy, rich tikka! The tofu butter masala was my favorite (at least I think I was that one - the darker orange one). Closest to a tikka one might have had before going vegan. Absolutely loved it. Called and confirmed everything on the "Indian Vegan Cafe" menu is 100% vegan. I bet you can also just go to Southern Spice and sit down and order it. I'll have to try someday. I did pickup after placing a GrubHub order - be warned, it seemed to take longer than the non vegan orders, wasn't ready quite when the app said it was. Not really a "ghost kitchen"... really just Southern Spice's vegan menu but separated into a different name for ordering. TLDR - highly recommend, especially if you're craving more creamy (but vegan!) Indian curries! Updated from previous review on 2023-06-08

Not dissuaded by the poor rating and motivated to try something different, we ventured into this restuarant located in relative high ethnic Indian community. And boy, did we regret it! Two stars for using technology to make ordering and paying easy. However, they were smart enough to ask for tip before eating your food! The medu vada platter was OK, but the dosa pizza was a complete disaster. Absolutely no taste, loaded with cheese. We asked for chilli-flakes and salt in attempt to add a little taste it, but they did not have the flakes. We gave up and left 75% of dosa uneaten. The ghee roast chicken in appetizers was actually a chicken curry, with no bread/rice to eat it with. They could have added 2 pieces of paratha/naan with it.

I've ordered from grubhub twice and it's so delicious I'm going to order every week. I love that the menu is 100% vegan so I can order anything in the menu without restriction. This restaurant's great because you get to try a large range of Indian dishes as a vegan. Also, the vegan alternatives are plant based not that fake meat vegan stuff most other restaurants have now. So I feel it's more healthy. Indian food is my favorite and I've tried every dish as a non-vegan so I can confirm these vegan options offered here are exactly like the meat originals as far as flavor and taste. Gave less 1 star because you cannot alter anything about the food or put in special requests. Which is fine but there should not be an option to do so if it isn't permitted. Example: I requested green chutney on the side, I selected the "add napkins and utensils", and I requested one of the dishes be made "not spicy". None of these requests were done.

This place is NOT fully vegan!! They only have a few vegan options, and are not even called “Indian Vegan Cafe”, it's called “Southern Spice”; we had to call just to find out where they are located, and they said they're located “inside Southern Spice” but when we went inside we discovered it's actually one and the same business, again which is NOT vegan. And they only allow online orders. Very sketchy and scam-like overall.

One of our family friend recommended this restaurant. When we went there we were scared as it was empty. The moment we opened the door one server guided us a table. Gave us water and asked us to Scan qr code for menu & order. We scanned and tried to order but it was not letting us order before we register and put email , phone and etc etc. So we called the server and he really helped by taking order on paper. We ordered starter Chinese bhel, dumplings, soup & noodles. The bhel was very fresh crisp and well garnished. We liked it coz it was very different from other places. The spices were just perfect. Next came the soup which was hot, prepared fresh coz the veggies added still had crunch. We loved every drop of it. So this Soup was served by a different server, who was slow in putting the soup from serving tray to our table. He himself realized it and told us that he is new and works at the restaurant next door. His name was UDAY. He was very good as he filled my water twice and also asked us if the starter was okay and if we need anything spices for soup to which we said no as the soup was perfect. So finally he served Dumplings & Noodles. I was blown away with the garnishing and aromas. The dumplings were spot on and the schezwan sauce was very flavorful. The Noodles were also very fresh and just enough hot to please the palate. We requested UDAY to get some Cold water as the water first served was at room temp. He not only gave me cold water but also was courteous to ask me to try and let him know if we needed any ice. He was very attentive towards the three tables he was serving not like the other server who was on his phone at the bar. We enjoyed our food, the ambiance was also very very good with high ceilings, painting and beautiful interiors. In fact everything was likeable. UDAY even told us that we can buy these addon sauces if we like. He told us little bit about the restaurant next door which we are going to try soon. In fact besides the food this Server was the reason of making our visit a pleasure as I remember that I dropped a fork and the moment it happened UDAY not only gave me a new fork but also picked the dropped one for me. What more can you expect from a restaurant. I was happy and left the restaurant with smile and waving to the hero UDAY. So 5 star interiors, 6 star food, 7 star service & of course 8 stars for the Chef. I also want to appreciate the owners and managers who are managing this place so well. It's a Gem and need to be replicated or chained so this good food and excellent service is all over socal. I am ordering my event catering soon and highly recommend this place. Request people to try them out and support them because we want more eating places like these. One most important thing is the prices - prices are very reasonable and compared to the quality and freshness of the food. It's NOTHING. There is one thing which I will suggest- the quantity of the Dumplings is weird. I will say I don't mind if you charge more but all other places serve 8 to 10 dumplings at the same price but this place serves 3. Don't get me wrong it's not a complaint but just a suggestion from a guy who owned a chain of restaurants and is a excellent chef himself. Thanks Southern Spice & special thanks to UDAY for the excellent service. Here are some pic of interiors & food.

Excellent food. Walk in and seat yourself at a table. They're usually busy so don't expect someone to greet you or help you find a table...just sit down. The food is delicious.

This is a ghost kitchen located for pick-up inside Southern Spice. The restaurant should consider adding this detail to their online pick up info. The food was good, the Tikka Masala was particularly great - It is nice to have a non-dairy option!
