Irvine Grill in the Quail Hill community is a cozy spot with great service and authentic Persian flavors. I tried the Abgoosht, and it was very good, rich in flavor and cooked perfectly, though a bit on the fatty side. To be fair, that’s just part of the traditional preparation, so it’s understandable. The portion was generous, the bread and sides were fresh, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and offers a nice neighborhood vibe. Overall, a great experience

We live close by so we come here quite often. Love their food and their price. Portions are huge. Casual restaurant. It’s comfort food. Decent price for alcohol as well. It can get busy for rush hours. They do take walk in. But we always rsvp cuz we don’t want to wait for table. Plenty of parking in a parking lots.

I’ve been here three times and every visit has gotten worse. My order came out wrong but I didn’t say anything and just went with it. All I asked for was extra zereshk, and since I ordered half rice and half salad, there was already less zereshk on the plate. Ten minutes later the waitress comes back saying they need to charge me $2 more. That was honestly insulting, especially when I’m having lunch with a friend. I politely declined, not because of the money, but because of the principle. If you’re going to charge more, at least bring what was asked for. You charged me $15 for half rice, which is the same as a full order. Was the extra $2 really worth losing a customer.. The food was okay, nothing jaw-dropping. That was my last time here.

Party of 2 went for dinner on a Saturday in May. A portion of the restaurant was seemingly cut off for some event, and we had to wait around 30-40 minutes to get a table. We had arrived at 7pm. Once we were seated, service was quick. It was very loud in there, with lots of families and kids. I had the koobideh combo, and everything was delicious - the lamb and chicken were both very very good. They started with some house bread plus butter which I liked too. The serving size for the entree is huge.
Went again in June. Seated right away this time at 630pm on a Monday. Knew the serving size is huge, so stuck to kotlet appetizers this time. Didn't like them as much as the koobideh. Friend had the chicken sultani and it looked delicious.
Went again for lunch of 4th of July and had the beef koobideh with rice. It was delicious.

The food is really nice, incredibly generous portions. However, it's the staff who really make Irvine Grill the place it is. They're all incredibly accommodating for our family and our very naughty little boy :)
They know he loves the salad dressing so ensure he's topped up adequately. If they see he's running low on salad dressing, they're quickly on board to get him more salad dressing.
The manager and serving staff literally go out of their way for us.
Best Persian restaurant in Irvine.

The food was horrible tasting, the only thing that was really good is the greasy baked bread. The hummus was over chilled and not fresh tasted like it has been sitting in the fridge for days. The beef kebab didn’t taste good and it stunk, wired texture with a lot of spices like it was cooked before and heated. Chicken kebab was ok spiced in the outside but no flavor when you dig in. Overall a very bad experience. In addition when we walked inside the restaurant to be seated it smelled like sewage water which was a sign for us to walk out but never the less.

Lunch on Saturday around noonish. Party of 3. Not very busy. No reservations needed. Very good service. Can't argue on that point. Food is slightly average and I've eaten at many mediterranean restaurants across the country. Ordered ground beef and chicken kabobs. Can't go wrong there. Beef was tasty and so was the chicken (dark meat). The side salad was a bit lazy (wilted lettuce and cukes were on their last leg and looked pretty sad). Rice was plentiful but very bland. Even the yellow saffron looking garnish on top of the rice had zero taste. Strange. We also ordered the grilled salmon. Again, slightly above average salmon taste but what was sad was the following (1) no grilled tomato like all the other dishes (2) salad was some sort of chopped up tomatoes and onions or something. if we want salad then just ask the waiter they will be glad to substitute for no charge (unless greek salad then $3 upcharge for basically feta cheese and onions/olives). We have gone to the way overpriced DiMassi Buffet in Cerritos and there's absolutely zero comparison. Now that's a Mediterranean/Persian buffet. I digress. But $30 for salmon and $28 for ground beef/chicken combo was a bit steep for quality (can't argue with quantity). There was a lot of everything on the plates but it just didn't have any authentic taste. Question: would we go back. Unfortunately no. DiMassi for $34 offers so much more variety and the food has excellent taste. Go try it you'll thank me.
