This IS NOT the same JJ Bakery in SGV.

Went there yesterday after visiting the clinic and obviously sick so I kept my mask on. As soon as we went inside I realized it is not the same as the ones we went to in SGV but I just wanted to get some bread so we decided to just try the bakery. There is a lady in front who did not even greet us, what was bothering was that there was another lady who came out and stared at me. I didn’t give it much thought until we started paying and the lady in front looked worried / upset. I didn’t give it much thought until I noticed she kept trying to look at me like studying my eyes to get description like if I was gonna run with the $40+ breads. So moral of the story it is better not to wear masks and spread virus in their store that way it does not cause them any panic.

Also, they are not wearing masks and gloves while putting the food on shelf hence they panic when they see people in masks which also explains why they are used to being unhygienic.

Do not overthink that people with masks will steal your breads. Please think about following protocols first working in the food industry. I’m a supplier myself and did not panic when I noticed you were not wearing anything but since you mind people wearing masks you should prioritize what needs to be addressed first.

The Chinese bakery from this JJ bakery doesn’t taste the same as the one in Rowland height. The name is the same but bread is subpar to the other stores.

JJ Bakery’s almond cookies are an excellent choice — they’re rich, nutty, and consistently fresh.

One of the best French-inspired bakeries in the area (better flavor than Paris Baguette), with their own Asian twist to some desserts. I hope to try one of their full cakes for an event today.

The bakery is OK but it's a little bit pricey lots of parking spaces.

Be careful how they charge. The picture shows two nearly identical breads. The top one is pineapple coco bread for $2.65. The lower one with peanut flavor was charged as Russian bread for $3.50. Check receipts before leaving the store.

I have visited JJ Bakery Irvine over a decade. I love their Traditional Taiwanese breads , pastries and sweets. Here are a few items that I would recommend (in pic order)

1. Egg Tart: I always purchase two egg tarts when I have the chance. But, it got sold out quickly.
2.Taro Pastry: Real taro paste, not too sweet. It is very delicious

3. Custard Bread: One of the traditional Taiwanese breads.
4. Scallion Bread: It is savory. Sometimes, I like savory breakfast.

5. Flan: Flan is located at the refrigerator near the entrance. It is dense instead of watery. I love it.

6. Almond Cookie:Perfect snack while I am watching Netflix.( It won’t last 20 minutes though)

Chinese style pastries. Everything I got was delicious. This is my favorite place to buy the Pork Sung Bun, and the egg tarts and BBQ Pork Bun are really good here too. I prefer coming here over 85° for the baked goods.

My wife was going to order New Year products from this store, but we were too far away to pay on site. They strongly asked my wife to leave her bank card number. Having experienced bank card theft before, she was certainly not willing to leave her credit card on her mobile phone. However, they were unwilling to forcefully ask my wife to leave her credit card, which made my wife particularly panicked. I suggested that she leave my phone number, but the female shopkeeper still refused. My wife told her that she could pay zelle or venmo to her or her staff and they would pay for us. As a result, she and her employees said that none of them had a transfer account. At this point I suspect they hire illegal students. The whole store is very rude and disgusting. I don’t want to trust the customer’s store at all🤮🤮🤮🤮

They do not accept American Express (Amex) credit cards as a payment method at this time.

The bakery serves classic chinese-style baked goods, such as pork floss buns or taro flaky pastry. Its a great place. This review is mostly to bring attention that the attached cafe has two updates:
1. it is open from 11 AM to 4 PM, and closed on wednesdays unlike the main bakery.
2. Starting 7/1/2024, the cafe will no longer serve meals.
This is really unfortunate since the meals were great, but it makes sense given the traffic was not high (theres a place in the same plaza that serves similar cuisine.)
