Javier's Restaurant - Irvine

Very nice, upscale and festive Mexican food. On the pricey side for sure, but the food was really exceptional, service friendly and quite attentive, and the atmosphere high energy/loud (not necessarily a bad thing). Worthy of a repeat visit as a special occasion or an expense account.

It was way too loud, way too dark, and way too expensive. The food and service were good but not nearly worth the cost.

Celebrated a birthday, party of 8. Service was impeccable and F&B was outstanding. The atmosphere of this location was outstanding. Thank you for making our special day memorable.

Javier's had good food a crowded but nice environment and very good service. I have one huge complaint. They do not accept the OpenTable $80 gift card that you earned after getting 10,000 points. I've made 100 reservation. I made a reservation for Javiers through OpenTable the bill came. I showed them the Mastercard $80 gift card that I earned through OpenTable and they refused it. They sent a manager. The manager refused it. They told me to leave my information so they could call and they didn't come back to pick up my information .deeply disappointed that they would reap the benefits of OpenTable and not accept a simple $80 gift card that I earned when they just have to enter it as a Mastercard. 

All was very good only host passes like 12 families in front of me because she thought my whole family was not there after I clearly told her they were all here with me but I guess she did not pay attention to me . my reservation was at 2:30 I did not go in till 2:50 waiting in front of her for 20 minutes while they passes about 12 families . Then I went up to her and told her why where so many people going ahead of me ? She said, " O ya your whole family is here . Let me get you in " I went in within one minute after I had to question what was going on . Only bad expereince at Javiers .

One of our favorite places to dine for special occasions. Food was quality. Drinks were weak. Weakest margarita I have ever had for such a high price. Service was adequate. Our server was not very friendly and did not check on us until we were close to being done eating. Overall this visit was very average.

We ordered 2 Paloma's and they were TERRIBLE. They didn't have grapefruit juice in them and they were white, not pink. We asked what was in them and our waiter said “squirt” the soda. They were awful so we sent them back. Even the margaritas we got after that were not great but they were better. Food was good but we expected way more out of the service and the drinks. The Newport location is a million times better

Overall Javier's continues to be a great place to dine. This location specifically has lost its charm and sophistication compared to the other ones. This location remains to be a little less upscale and more causal. If you are looking for a casual Javier's dining experience then I'd recommend this one. Otherwise Newport, Century City, an DTLA continue to be my preferred locations for what Javier's is known to be

Always the right place to celebrate! Our server very friendly and attentive, got the best sea bass, loved my tamarind margarita, definitely recommend it

The service, food, and drinks always great! The silly rule about not sitting a party until every single person arrives is antiquated and a rule from the 90s. If 6/7 people are there, you should seat the table. It makes an otherwise high level restaurant feel sub-par.

Great food and service. We ordered steak salad, tacos, and steak. The salsa was great. Also, our server was super nice.

Awesome place, nice for a date night out or for a special event too.

Always delicious food. Super loud so hard to hear and menu value seems to have changed quite a bit It won't preclude me from returning but not as frequently

Great food and definitely a high class restaurant with amazing ambiance and even a worker in the bathroom providing things like gum and soap.
