From the sauces to the broth, I have complete control over what I get to eat. Like most shabu places, it is not AYCE but the quality is definitely there. The price is a bit pricy but occasionally I will return to this place because I like everything about it!

Great 1st time visit. Super fast and friendly service. Food was of great quality and plentiful portions. Right next to the AMC theatre. We were in and out within an hour of showtime. We will be back!!!

During Covid there were a few places I was concerned may not re-open, Joon Shabu 2 was atop that list. The food is amazing, and the restaurant itself is very nice but my favorite part is definitely the staff. I work in a service based industry so I take special notice when somebody goes above and beyond for their customers. Working in a busy restaurant, interacting with countless customers each day is a difficult job and recognizing customers would be special, but remembering their individual order is nothing short of amazing. Janet, I just wanted to say you are an outstanding server and this place is truly lucky to have you around See you guys again soon !

This is the hidden gem of shabu places. It's a local mom-and-pop style shop owned by an older Japanese man who is passionate about his food and the in-house sauces they make! I love shabu and there are great shabu places around the area, but none beats the cleanliness and quality, lack of wait, and customer service of Joon. All the staff are happy to chat with you too and befriend you if you're willing! The meat is high quality. My go to is the Joon Ribeye, but the Wagyu Belly is great for an even more decadent cut. Their fresh ramen is delicious. The handmade sauces are the best, beating even the super popular shabu chains in the area; ask to try the free sampler with your order! And ask for hot drops if you love spice like me. Finally, they're currently having an amazing deal of $1 sake bottles and $2 bottled beer. They're both good, but the beers are quality Japanese beers and you won't find this cheaper anywhere else. Bring your friends and family! Let's support small local businesses!

I been to shabu shabu long time ago but havent been out in a while. I came with few of my neighbor friends recently after a long hike at Peters Canyon. It was still a cold day so hot pot kind of made sense. I really enjoyed my meal here. It was pretty confusing if you are a first timer, with the shared vs multiple layered pricing, but once you get a hang off it, it kind of makes sense. For two people, the shared sizing is perfect, and to add on more meat or veggies on top. Expect to spend at least $30 per person. Also ask for a sample sauce, as all their sauces are really good. I really enjoyed the goma sauce and the garlic one is just as good too! This place is kind of low but its pretty legit!

Finally!!! They're re opened! Limited hours 5:30-8:30/9 depending on the day and they are closed on Mondays. Food quality hasn't missed a beat. Service is just as great as before and it's outside seating. Certain meats aren't available but majority of the menu is. Great shabu place and glad it's opened again!

Perfect meal for a cold weather. Went here for my husbands birthday and I must say great service great food. The broth of the soup was seasoned right. And it was very yummy and makes you feel all toasty inside . I will be back here soon. Thank you for the yummy food :$

Great food, fantastic outdoor dining (YES, they do outdoor korean BBQ and shabu at your table, so you can enjoy fresh food deliciousness while staying safe), amazing service.Five stars - Covid-19 safety protocols. They had adequate spacing, took our temperatures, and even pointed us away from another table which (while it looked very clean) was still waiting the mandatory drying time from the EPA spray they use. Of course, every staff member was wearing masks and stayed a reasonable distance from us while taking orders and answering questions.Five stars - FOOD. Of course, for a Yelper, this is the most important. The meat was excellent, as was the veggies, dipping sauces (we got the ponzu and also a garlicky one), black rice and noodles. We were thinking of getting the Sukiyak broth but decided on beef broth (so good), so I'll have to go back to try the other varieties. I was concerned that maybe because business had slowed down, we would get food that wasn't the freshest. Not true! The meat was high quality, the broth was delicious, the sauces were perfect. They were generous with the rice and the veggies.Five stars - Service. I saved the best for last. Our server, Ephraim, was helpful, pleasant, and genuinely cared about getting us everything we needed to enjoy our meal.We'll be back because of this fantastic dining experience - thank you!

It's a great Shabu Shabu shop located right by the AMC theaters in The District complex.Came here on a Saturday for an early dinner. It wasn't too crowded when we arrived and we were seated immediately. The server was really friendly and helpful. Saw that they were now offering Japanese BBQ at 25% off so we ended up ordering the BBQ instead of the usual shabu shabu. We ordered prime short rib and prime ribeye and they were a great deal that also included free vegetable plates that you can also grill. The portion was plenty and included variety of sauce choices. The meat was very tasty, tender, juicy and perfect for the BBQ craving we had.The place is very clean and modern with tables and counters having individual inductive cooktops ventilation for the shabu shabu, and for the BBQs there is a patio where you can do the grilling yourself as people walk by watching you in envy.So full stars for great service, for great food, for value, for atmosphere, and for the whole package. A five star experience overall. Definitely recommend this place to all Shabu Shabu and BBQ lovers.

But I just went today (09/25/20) and they are following good protocols, checking temperature, social distancing, and outdoor dining available as well. I missed this place so much I'm so glad it's open again!

We love this place. Pre-COVID, we would come here often before the movies, and always were served promptly and with incredible service. The owner is great and always recognizes his regulars, and frequently suggests new things to try. We're eagerly awaiting their re-opening and can't wait to support them once again!
