Fantastic experience at Marufuku Ramen in Irvine. The ramen was excellent, deep flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. Everything came out exactly as it should.
Service was top-notch. Rene was amazing, friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome without being overbearing. That kind of service makes a big difference.
Also, thanks to Nixia for the referral, great recommendation.
Highly recommend. We’ll definitely be back.

First: the stinginess. Refused to fill up the broth. No straws. The toppings were so sparse I started wondering if this was some sort of minimalist art installation—Ramen, but make it conceptual. A single sad scallion floating like driftwood. Protein? Present in theory. I’ve had eye contact with more substantial portions.
Then there’s the service. Time moved differently here. Super slow. This place assumes you’re not going anywhere because you’ve already waited too long to leave.
Now, the noodles. Oh, the noodles. Or whatever they used to be before dissolving into mush. These weren’t noodles so much as noodle memories. Watery, bloated, and completely surrendered to the broth—which itself tasted like it had been waved at some bones once and then heavily diluted out of guilt. Slurpable? Yes, but only in the way soup is slurpable when you give up on chewing.
And here’s where I go on a tangent, because ramen is supposed to be a thing. A balance. A craft. A moment. Somewhere along the way, this place decided that effort was optional and that customers wouldn’t notice. But people notice. Especially when they’re paying good money for a bowl that feels like it was assembled during a staff meeting about cutting costs.
By the time I finished—out of stubbornness, not enjoyment
Would I come back? No.

The ramen was okay overall. It didn’t have the rich, authentic tonkotsu flavor I was expecting, but it was still decent. The service was fast and attentive, which made the experience better.

Really good ramen served up in an amazing environment. They did have trouble peeling the eggs though, mine were all lumpy.

My family and I love Marufuku Ramen! This place is delicious and convenient. The staff is always super friendly and attentive and food comes quick. This place is great for kids, too. We have two young children and they always bring them kid plates/bowls (that won't break if they fling them off the table) and cutlery. Definitely try the Marufuku bites and my go to is the tonkotsu dx.

We were seated quickly upon arrival, and our waiter came right over. I asked for Japanese beer recommendations, and he suggested the Echigo beer—which I found delicious. It was an excellent recommendation, and he remained attentive throughout our visit. My husband and I ordered the Japanese buns, which were exquisite. We both had the Hakata Tonkotsu ramen, and it was good. The restaurant’s location is great, and the space is comfortable, clean, and visually appealing.

Food was mediocre, broth lacked flavor and ramen was overpriced at 18$ what a rip off. Reviews seriously mislead me, not a real Japanese place, don’t go.

I ordered the Hakata Tonkotsu DX and the chicken leg, and both were absolutely amazing. The broth was rich and flavorful without being too heavy, and the noodles had the perfect chew. The chicken leg was tender, juicy, and seasoned just right — it paired so well with the ramen.
Everything came out hot and fresh, and the overall experience felt comforting and satisfying. If you’re looking for a ramen spot in Irvine that truly delivers on flavor, Marufuku Ramen is definitely worth it! Highly recommend.
