Upon check in it seemed chaotic. The hostess was on a cell phone running back and forth and never acknowledged us. Then a man came up to check us in... I told him my name 3x and he kept reading back the wrong reservation. Finally we're seated and first hostess walks over and asks if we had a reservation??? Our server was a bit frenetic and kept pushing alcohol and saying he was the birthday present for the birthday girl. Food was just ok. Pear salad was not good at all and we couldn't eat it. It was all very bitter radicchio and endive. Barely any pears or cheese and no dressing. Pizza was ok. Overall mediocre...probably won't return.
We had a great time for our daughter's 19th birthday! Eggplant Parma spectacular as were the zucchini flowers, a specialty you don't as much outside of Italy. Service was outstanding
One of our favorite spots to bring friends and enjoy a delicious dining experience. Food, service, and drinks always top of the Line. Shout out to our favorite waiter, Victor.!
Best chef and menu in south OC Excellent service and food Always fun and enjoyable experience!!
Delicious food! Many different food options from sandwhiches, pizzas and larger entrees All pastas are home made, with daily pasta, fish and risotto options. We went for lunch so it was quiet, but would expect that dinner maight be more lively. We had a shared appetizer, and 3 entrees, 1 dessert and a bottle of wine. With tip for 3 of us $270.
Food was absolutely delicious. The risotto of the day included scallops and they were cooked to perfection. We got pesto gnocchi with burrata cheese, penne with pomodoro sauce and a Parmesan rigatoni. All pasta were at dente and flavored nicely. Bread was served warm with olive oil and olive tapenade. What was pretty terrible was our waiter. He came up to take our order and didn't bother to review the specials or any recommendations. In fact, he barely greeted us. I had to inquire about what the risotto of the day was. Then I had to inquire about the price. Then I asked if they could prepare some simple pasta dishes for my children as there was no kids menu. I had to ask for the price and he wasn't sure if the chef could even offer pesto gnocchi. After he confirmed it was doable, we got our food. When the bill arrived, we were stunned to see the pesto pasta was $33, given that the pomodoro penne was only $16. Plus there was no protein, so why so pricey? Even the Parmesan rigatoni was only $25 (also without a protein). I find it rude to just charge us $33 for a pasta dish without letting us know about the price ahead of time. Additionally, the waiter never followed up on us to ensure we were doing ok. Thankfully there was someone else who helped refill our drinks. Customer service is really important and our main waiter failed at that.
Oliver's is simply fantastic! Great food and same food servers that have been there for years. A local Italian winner, for sure! 5 star!
First time at Oliver's. Couldn't have been better. Giovani was our server and was amazing with his recommendations for food and drink. We'll bring all our friends back soon..
I reserved a table here for our wedding anniversary and it was the best decision. The food is delicious, we had the truffle risotto and enjoyed it so much. Desserts were amazing. Will definitely come back, thanks for a great and enjoyable evening.
Gio is a gem! Don't skimp on cocktails, appetizers, entrees, pizza, or dessert. We can't go often but when we're there we always enjoy. Works for date night, large groups, wine night, family time—I've done all of them at Oliver's and left happy every time.

Excellent food! This is our 5th time. They consistently deliver high quality food. Fresh pasta and delicious pizza. This is your authentic Italian and no American Italian. So happy we found this place in Irvine. It’s actually by far our favorite Italian place in the area.
I was visiting my girlfriend in OC and wanted to have a special dinner with her while I was there. Oliver’s was definitely the right choice for a great date night. The decor and layout was elegant and set the mood for an elevated night together. The service provided by Fernando and Giorgi was top-notch, as we had all of our needs taken care of with attentive and personable service. As for the food, it was simply amazing. I had the Tonnarelli ai Crostacei and it was a 10/10. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the lobster was tender and delicious, and the tomatoes were so amazing I could eat a whole bowl of just their cooked cherry tomatoes. Absolutely amazing. If you are looking for a nice date night in Irvine, you have to go to Oliver’s!
