Paper Lantern Dumpling House

What a tasty lil dumpling house. The service is always quick and kind and the food is consistently good. My family and I have come here many times and we just keep coming back for their noodles, egg soup and lamb dumplings.. best part is their rarely a wait.. FYI I don’t know what’s up with the bad reviews, maybe the negative review customers are used to McDonald’s and pickup sticks.. if ur looking for something tasty and easy at diamond center this is the place.

Quick and easy. XLB are as good as anywhere. Very clean. Basic menu. I liked it. Don’t know why the reviews are so bad

I ordered half XLB and Dan Dan noodle. XLB is dough was soggy and thick. It felt apart when I picked it up. Flavor was just like any frozen XLB you can get from any Asian grocery stores. Dan Dan noodle was a disaster too. The noodle had no chewiness at all. They probably overcooked it. Anyway, save your money and try other restaurants in this plaza.

The quality of Chinese restaurants on Irvine is high in general. The dishes tasted pretty authentic.

The food was really great, I had spicy wonton and lamb dumplings. The service was absolutely terrible though. I guess maybe the language barrier ‍♂️

Prices are great and the food is delicious! Simple menu but everything is good. Staff is great

Fast service. Great food. Staff was a little awkward but they made sure we were taken care of. I would recommend the Pork Xiao Long Bao (XLB) and the scallion pancake.

The dumplings and soup were ok But the surroundings are not too pleasant. Maybe take out would be a good idea.

Went to shopping center to get some Vietnamese food but was very crowded. Saw Paper Lantern and I really like dumplings. They had some good lunch specials.... but the flavors seemed to be way off disgusting in some of the items. Dumplings were over cooked with meat filling hard like a rock. Noodles... never again this restaurant, just nasty terrible. Staff was not very attendant and took too long for a glass of water with one other couple in establishment for lunch! Now I know why. Choose another restaurant for your meals.

I should have read some of the reviews.

Showed up 30 min before closing and they said they were closing early, 4 tables inside eating, 3 tables dirty, arguing with your friend waiting for you to lock up. Ehh you're in a shopping center of late night food businesses and youre closing early without notification. Told me I cant sit and eat.

Amazing service, amazing variety of food and incredible taste. Everything was good and at a good price. I totally recommend.
