Flatbread sandwich place. That's pretty much all that's on the menu. It was pretty good but not something I'd seek out again. Quality was good so if you like that kind of thing you might like this place. $16 for sandwich and drink (no side), makes it a little pricey for what you get.

Not a place I would try again. It’s the smallest, most overpriced flatbread type thing. Prosciutto is not top quality. Took forever for my order to come out, too.

Nothing special about this place. Even the food. Especially for its expensive cost.

I really wanted to like this place more. They try to be truly Italian with imported meats and tuna, and an Italian bread pressing machine. Unfortunately my New York piadina had bread which was uncooked (translucent dough). Literally raw dough. Not cool. The other sandwich ingredients were ok but the meat was very fatty (which is typical for these deli style cuts, but something to be aware of). The tuna salad was HUGE but had almost no tuna or salad dressing. Overall the food was very unsatisfying and half the sandwich went into the garbage due to the uncooked bread. Will not be coming back.

Piadina is a fresh, tasty Italian flatbread sandwich shop in the Crossroads Irvine shopping center just off of Barranca. They have a menu of over a dozen craft sandwiches that a perfect "just right" size for lunch. On my visit, I tried the Alpi, with hearty smoked prosciutto, mozzarella, fresh arugula, and tomato. They compliment perfectly with the Batch all-sugar soda too. Salads or flatbread pizza options available. Vegetarian options are also available. Friendly staff and made to order this is a perfect place for lunch during your work week, or makes a great place to take a break if you are riding along the San Diego Creek Trail. Catering and online orders are also available.
Vegetarian options: They feature two flatbread sandwiches, three pizzas, and a Mediterranean salad for all vegetation options. (No items are listed as truly vegan.)
Parking: Standard shopping center parking. Can be relatively busy, but parking should be freely available.
Wheelchair accessibility: Storefront handicap parking available. Indoor and outdoor free chair seating. Single manual door. Wheelchair accessible order and pickup counters.

Probably the best shop in the entire center. You can get exceptionally delicious sandwiches and piadizzas here. There are also many different types. So there is actually something for every taste. I have eaten many different sandwiches and they have all been delicious. The products also taste really fresh. The store itself is okay. The staff is always very friendly.

*Sad sandwich alert* - when you walk in you'll notice signs for $0.75 sauce everywhere, mayo $0.75, hot sauce $0.75, etc. As a first-timer I figured they wouldn't be evil enough to sell an incomplete sandwich that purposefully tastes bad without the sauce surcharge, but I was wrong. We ordered to go, so I had no way of even forking over the additional funds to complete my sandwich... I don't think anyone makes a dry sandwich with meat, arugula, tomatoes, and nothing, and I'm sure once you figure out the sauce scam you'll throw a couple on for an extra $1.50, but don't order to go on your first time or you'll be left with.... this.

I can't believe it took me so long to try this place. Initially, I noticed these gorgeous women exiting with these flatboxes in hand. I was a bit apprehensive at first, but the staff reassured first-timers buy pointing out popular items (highlighted in yellow on the menu). I went with the California as my initiation and it was a safe choice: Roasted Chicken, mozzarella, arugula, tomato, and basil pesto wrapped in a warm flat bread. Quality ingredients, simple yet tasty, and executed quickly. The interior is cool and quaint with about 4-5 tables of 4. Will be back to try their Italian Classics.

Horrible experience this time. Their food was so good last time, we ordered California and Roma and a veggie. I picked it up and cross checked with the guy there if the order was placed correctly, he mentioned yes. Also my name was missing on the pick up bag, when I questioned about it, he simply wrote my name on bag. Got home and opened, both chicken orders are tilled with turkey slices. And their phone number on google is not even working. Worst thing. You lost ur regular customer. I live 30 mins away from this place and drove 1 hour for this experience. Worst.
I feel silly saying that I only just discovered this place, because it's been open for awhile, but it IS a solid restaurant. The sandwich/panini style bread is absolutely delicious!! Think, tortilla made to order, but slightly thicker and every bit as yummy!! I had a #9 Verona which was amazing along with a small side salad with Cesar dressing. Fantastic, perfectly prepared and the ginger ale "craft" soda was killer!! Super ginger!! I'll be coming back to try the breakfast sandwich soon!!Update: so, I finally got back around to making it in for one of Piadina's egg style flat bread sandwiches today. I think I'm beginning to fall hard for Piadina!! First off, again I have to say I'm I little embarrassed that I'm only now discovering the goodness of this place, but I witnessed half a dozen other people who were eagerly awaiting the doors opening right at 11am sharp!! They know what's up! I had the Mattina, which contains scrambled egg, smoked turkey, fresh spinach, and mozzarella cheese. OMG!! And that Piadina freshly made dough, toasted to perfection. I really was in my happy place. That's only half of the story, I also tried for the first time thier coffee from Italy, Illy. Holy moly!! I haven't had a coffee THAT good since my last trip to Europe. It was a beautiful medium roast, medium bodied coffee, so wonderful I felt transported to another part of the world. And to top it off, a small Hazel nut Perugina chocolate truffle!! I have to say it was one of the best mid morning breakfast/brunch meals I've had in a long time! I can't wait to come back and try a new selection on their menu. Cue the Bryan Adams, One night love affair, only this affair is going to continue on!! ????Update: I visited again this last week because I HAD to try the new PIZZA Piadinas!!??????Well, as usual I was so hungry and Alex the manager made their Tricolore pizza sound absolutely killer!! Now, I've already raved about the delicious dough that Piadina makes fresh daily. It really makes a HUGE difference. So, I ordered the Tricolore which has mozzarella, tomato, and pesto. It was melt in your mouth good. The pesto was really yummy. The radio was playing Everlasting Love and I could tell my affair with Piadina had just moved to the next level. I told Alex I began to imagine all of my favorite kinds of pizza, but now I was imagining all of that on this incredibly delicious Piadina flat bread. It was revelatory to say the least. Dare I say epiphany. ?? So, I had just gotten finished with my last final for the semester, I'm just totally in my happy place with pizza and then it hits me.....sweet!! I ask Alex, " hey, do you guys make a sweet Piadina, like Nutella and bananas or strawberries?" Alex says, "WE DO!!" It just is not on the menu as of yet!!! Whaaaaaa!!! So, sweet Piadina, Yes please!! It's called the Dulce, or sweet...Duh!! ? And it's freaking amazing!! I totally recommend it. It's the perfect amount of chocolate and bananas. It's warm, crunchy, chewy, and all good!! You WANT THIS!! Truly. Again you gotta ask for it because it's not on the menu....yet!! Tell them Stromboli sent you!! ?????Update: I came through with my mom again and had a wonderfully delicious meal!! I joined the "Thanks" app for restaurants and there was an awesome deal for 2 Piadina or Pizzadias, drinks, and a dessert, I HAD to come through!! It was amazing!! I highly recommend the app for it's rewards as well as the Piadina specials. Alex and his team are fantastic at delivering great tasting, quality dishes. So good, in fact, this time I was able to get photos of my Newport Piadina AND the incredibly tasty dessert Piadina, the Dulce with bananas and Nutella chocolate. Shut the front door!!!???✨?????? Enjoy the photos!!
