Parking was challenging but options to walk a little is key! There was a small line but instead of just staying there I went straight to the hostess to ask about the wait then she asked my info and placed me on the wait-list. Other people were waiting without ever making contact, smh. All in all the food was tasty from my Benedicts to the machaca and huevos rancheros were fantastic! Nice and friendly service! Loved it!

Ever since moving to Irvine/OC, I’ve been looking for a great breakfast spot and Poached has cemented itself as my go to for burritos, omelettes, benedicts, and more.

Came here for the first time with a group of 8. We were greeted by a snarky hostess when we checked in - she acted annoyed that we were early for our reservation. When she called us in, we waited to be seated as she spoke to others in line - it was our first time here, so we didn't know to just walk in. When she saw us waiting she was (again) annoyed and told us that we were supposed to go straight in.

When we got inside the person taking our order was very kind & patient, the servers were all polite and attentive. Food was good and everything came out correct & as ordered.

As we finished our meal and were talking the same hostess from earlier came up to our table and said that we only had an hour & a half allotted and we were already 15 min past our time and that they couldn't have us there any more....basically kicking us out.

We were busy talking so we weren't tracking our time, but I thought her delivery was really rude and matter of fact considering we were paying customers.

I'm sure she felt like she did nothing wrong but none of us plan on returning and won't be recommending this place to anyone we know based on the interaction with her alone. Its too bad because their waffles were delicious, but spending time and money to go out happens less frequently for me nowadays, so I'd like to spend both in a place that appreciates my business and has basic customer service skills when speaking with people.

Terrible service at the front register. The girls up there have no customer service skills and a simply rude food is OK but every time I eat it I feel weird as if I’m eating plastic orange juice is Fresh is the only reason I go there. Overpriced for eggs.

Large portions, definitely split if you can as the prices are high. Good variety of menu items including steak and eggs and pancakes. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Poached Kitchen has become one of our go to breakfast spots and for good reason. We have been here a few times now and honestly have never had a bad meal. This time I got the Morning Scramble with bacon which is always my favorite and it was perfect once again. The eggs are creamy and airy, never dry or overcooked, and they hold together nicely. The cream sauce with the bacon on top adds just the right flavor, crispy and tangy. Their sourdough is great too and makes the best little egg and scramble sandwich. The hash browns are usually the highlight for me. Perfectly crispy and crunchy on the outside with a soft inside, not soggy or greasy, just the right balance. My wife and I usually split a salad on the side and it is always fresh and a nice touch. We have also tried a few of their other dishes in the past and everything has been excellent. The salmon lox Benedict was amazing and their short rib omelette is another standout. The portions are generous and satisfying.
The owner is super sweet and you can tell he really cares about the details when it comes to both food and drinks. The line is always long every time we come but that only shows how popular and consistent this place is. It has definitely become our regular Sunday after church spot and a place we will keep coming back to.

Food quality used to be amazing, but it's been sliding recently and the protein portions in their meals have been cut back noticeably. Service has also been on the decline, which may be due to staffing changes. The staff that has been there for some time are always great, but the newer folks don't seem to value service as highly.
