This place is in a food court area so there's other places to choose from. I know I should've ordered seafood but I didn't! My boss brought our team here for lunch to get outta the office. I ordered the steak nachos and the meat was just so tender !! The serving was just enough and I still left a few chips. I also tried the old bay french fries from my co-worker and they were good too !! I suggest you take your food to go since the seating is only outside and there is no shade and on a hot day it's not comfortable to eat outside in hot weather.

This place is a waste of time! They had 1 bartender who continuously checked on and asked patrons what they wanted & completely ignored me. Why is there 1 waiter working anyways?! I sat there for almost 30 mins. I felt bad because Je was being overworked until he went back triple checking on others and blatantly ignored me. I just left without my order being taken. I will be sure to tell everyone I known it to visit.

I came here twice and the person who took orders was very dishonest. The first time I said 10% tips, she punched in 15%. I let it go because it’s just a few cents. The second time I ordered taco Tuesday which is $3 per taco, she charged me regular price. I paid $4 extra bucks. I don’t mind tipping you and I don’t mind paying the extra, what I care is how a few bucks can compromise a person’s honesty and integrity. The tacos tastes good and I want to come back. But I’m never returning. Be mindful and check your receipts people, they don’t let you touch the screen for a reason. She can tweak your tip amount and final charge.

I ordered over the phone and picked up. The dude at the register was really nice! My food was kinda soggy and cold. I called and drove out as soon i finished the order, i guess they make the food really fast! I was going to order on grub hub, good thing i didn’t.

I ordered over the phone and when I went to pick up the food was already soggy and kinda cold :( That was a bit disappointing

Their clam chowder is pretty great and they don't hold back on the clams like other places! They got a lot of pretty fairly priced fast order seafood dishes. I look forward to trying some of the other dishes they have.

My friends and I were looking for a quick, casual bite to eat before they headed out of town. We're gluttons for seafood, so we decided to give Portside a try. We came midday on a weekday, so there was a bit of a lunch rush but the outdoor ambiance was casual and relaxed enough not to matter so much. I ordered the cali shrimp burrito with a side of calamari. It was delightful and tasty, well seasoned, and a good portion size. My friend got the mac and cheese, and loved it so much went back and got seconds for the road! My only quip is that seating might be a struggle if it's a busy time of day.

So sad they had to change their main Cook chef, now everything tastes different, Ahi Tuna is totally cooked and ruined, Crispy Broccoli used to be my favorite is now tasteless and a few others, I gave this place 3 more chances to see if they would go back to normal but the current cook didn't get close. Don't get me wrong it's still good, average good, but used to be out of this world before.

Don't get the soggy fish n chips if you like them fried and crispy! Poor customer service. I told them my fish was soggy and they said "it's fish" and when I asked if I could swap it with something else the cashier asked the cook and he said for her to tell me "that's how it is" and rejected my request to swap with something else. I went back again to give them a second chance and explained also it just happens to be my birthday (St. Patrick's day), and the cashier asked if I was recording her, I said no I'm writing you a review on Yelp (Google now too). I'm simply asking are you telling me YES OR NO? To the question of if I can swap it out with something else. She went to the cook again and asked him. She asked if I wanted a refund or swap it out. I said swap it out (I don't want them to lose money totally, I used to run my own restaurant with my own recipes and menu.) It's hard to believe someone would question ones intelligence on how fish n chips are "supposed" to be. I started off with a 1 star review. Bumped them to a 3 star even tho it had to take me telling them it's my birthday and they are getting reviewed to do so... Not a good business strategy. Any restaurant owner/chef knows the basic rules to customer service when food doesn't come out to par... Even if I was remotely wrong... Which I'm not as you can see by the video I'm posting along with this to show how soggy they were and this is right after they came out... Given that... The fries are great. Mac n cheese heavy but as expected and amazingly so. The burritos seem to be very popular here and for good reason. The clam chowder was amazing and the sour dough bread perfect! Sour dough is my favorite and it was extra sour and crunchy, great for dipping in the chowder. I'd say this place would be a 4.5 to 5 stars even with the soggy fish n chips, but obviously customer service goes a long way and it can make or break a review. Obviously these reviews are skewed and should be taken with a grain of salt. Quality of food sometimes could be half as good but customer service would have their sales boom if met properly. I'd say stop serving soggy fish n chips or start making it correctly.

Lots of good seafood selections, but every time we come here it is for their unique and excellent Bacon Mac N' Chowder, which is a simple, delicious and brilliant combination of clam chowder and mac & cheese. It is actually a perfect compliment to a Bag O Chicken from their neighbor, Two Birds, the best fried chicken in OC. One of these days I will try something else from their menu but that Bacon Mac N' Chowder...wow!!

It's not easy to find fish tacos around the area that I actually enjoy, but I must say I really like this one. The Portside Tacos plate includes 2 tacos with your choice of protein + a side of rice & beans for $11. With the fish tacos specifically, you have the option of getting it fried or grilled. Naturally, I forgot what a healthy diet was for a second & settled on the fried fish hahah. It definitely hit the spot because you hear the crunch & crispiness of the batter & taste the freshness of the fish all in one bite. Then you add a drizzle of their house-made jalapeño crema sauce for a pinch of spice & the side of coconut rice for a touch of sweetness & you have heaven on a platter. I must say their portions are good for the price but I was SO disappointed that one of my tacos only had one tiny piece of fish to fill up a whole tortilla. It sucks that I ordered it for pick up that I wasn't able to see it until I got to work, but hopefully they're giving everyone's money's worth & this was just a mistake on my meal.
