The server Alex needs to be retrained. I told him multiple times that I wanted one tuna roll and one salmon roll for the group, but he interpreted this as one tuna roll and one salmon roll per person. In fact, he originally had one salmon roll and two tuna rolls for the group, but somehow after we clarified he added one more tuna roll. We also asked for the check from him, to which he acknowledged, but then forgot to give it to us. Thankfully, a buff Asian dude brought it to us immediately after we asked him. The service is also slow; we sat for around 20 minutes before being served.

Love this place for its lunch handroll set. What a deal! Kei Concepts does well and this is one of them. Similar to Kazunori. Happy I found this place.

The taste of fresh fish with warm rice and crispy nori is unbelievable! If you want to try something different from hand rolls, try cryspy rice tartar, it's good. And my own lifehack for those taking care of calorie intake: I eat miso soup before my meal so I'm not that hungry anymore. Green tea is also a great drink because of its health benefits. Sometimes you have to wait for about a half of an hour to be seated, I believe you can check in on the website prior to arrival.

All the KEI Concepts restaurants are amazing and ROL isn't an exception. I've eaten here a few times and every time I end up doing an uncontrollable food dance while eating my rolls.

This location is very small, with a U shaped counter top being the only available seating. You can see all the hand rolls made in front of you and the cooks place them on your plate as soon as they finish them. The pacing can feel kind of slow at times so make sure to savor each item.

Every time I go here I start with a Salmon Hand Roll and then a Shrimp Tempura Hand Roll. I also always get one of the A5 Wagyu Hand Rolls. Its pricey at $25, but the steak is so tender and delicious. Definitely worth it if you want to spoil yourself a little bit. The Crispy Rice Tartare is also a must order. The rice has just the right amount of crunch and the fish is packed with flavor.

On my most recent visit I also ordered Yellowtail Hand Rolls, an Unagi Hand Roll, Toro Inari, Salmon Inari, and Miso soup. All the fish tasted super fresh. Ill probably add the Unagi Hand Roll to my list of must order rolls.

I really enjoy the food and convenience of this location, the salmon is really great. For this culinary format, however, they need to put a party limit. Came for lunch and waited an hour extra because a party of 12 people pretty much took 80% of the seating. Why would they be allowed to sit together and have every other party after them wait much longer for them to clear out?

Makes no sense for a hand roll place to seat parties this big ALL AT ONCE. Make them split up out of consideration for other diners, please.

Very busy with limited bar seating, but so delicious. I would have really appreciated a menu with photos as I felt bad asking questions to the very busy servers. I guess I will have to return and try something new each time 😁

I mean the line out the door at all hours of the day speaks volumes. I was so excited to have a ROL near home but this one is the busiest. Always excellent food and service. Lunch specials slap and so does the ube coconut ale!

The sushi rolls were fresh and delicious. I just wish the sauce was included with the food instead of being charged separately.

I've been here for lunch with coworkers multiple times, and the food is always fantastic. A quick but important tip for anyone dining in: this is bar seating only, so it's best for smaller groups. It gets busy, so on weekdays I highly recommend getting there or joining the waitlist before 11:15 AM. If you wait until after 11:30 AM, you can definitely expect a 45+ minute wait.
I recently tried the take-home hand roll kit and absolutely loved it. The quality was just as good as eating there, and it easily feeds 3-4 people, making it a great value. My only recommendations for the take-home kit would be to order extra seaweed, as you'll likely want more than what's included. Also, while the sauces are delicious, the portions felt a bit small for what you pay.
Overall, this place is a gem. Whether you're dining in or taking it home, the quality is top-notch. Just plan ahead a little, and you'll have an amazing meal!

My partner and I have been to multiple locations and love all of them. We were so happy they opened one in Irvine. This is a smaller restaurant, but the service is wonderful and the food is even better. We really enjoy the quality of the sushi and believe the pricing is fair and not overpriced like a lot of places in Southern California. We love coming here and recommend to all our friends and family. Even strangers too! Thanks for all the hard work and quality service!

The last day in LA :(. Saw great reviews and swung quickly over. The reason I put only a four stars not a five stars review was because it’s strange that all the male workers seems neutral like with no expressions when asking a question or two, it’s very odd and while the female workers were very friendly but with no doubt they have great food.

Love their lunch seafood bowl. Hand roll combo is good too!

It’s a great spot for those who prefer light meals. Rather than a place for families, it’s more suited for couples looking for a nice date spot. You can enjoy a satisfying meal with small portions, and the quality fish and fresh seaweed alone make it delicious. They also serve my favorite sake — not a wide selection, but just enough, and I love it. With plenty of staff, they’re attentive and provide what you need promptly. The food is excellent, making it a place I truly enjoy.
