Today, I visited Yun Chuan Yuan, an affordable Sichuan restaurant in Irvine, and I was absolutely amazed! Every dish was so delicious that I can't help but rave about each one. Here's my detailed review! π
π Twice-Cooked Pork:
The perfectly balanced fatty and lean pork is stir-fried to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a rich savory sauce! The green peppers and garlic sprouts are also super flavorful. One bite and I was in heaven!
π Shredded Pork with Sweet Bean Sauce:
The pork strips are tender, and the sauce is rich and flavorful, with the perfect balance of salty and sweet! Wrapped in thin pancakes with scallions and cucumber strips, the layers of texture are amazing, and it's not greasy at all. Absolutely fantastic!
π Cold Skin Noodles:
The noodles are chewy and smooth, with a spicy oil that's fragrant but not overwhelming, and the vinegar is just the right amount of tangy! Paired with cucumber strips and bean sprouts, it's refreshing and appetizing, perfect for summer!
π Dry-Fried Green Beans:
The green beans are slightly crispy on the outside but still tender inside, with a rich, dry aroma! The minced meat and chili peppers add a wonderful fragrance, making it super satisfying with rice!
Overall, Yun Chuan Yuan is a highly cost-effective Sichuan restaurant, and every dish kept me coming back for more! Highly recommended for all Sichuan cuisine lovers! π―

Itβs an authentic Sichuan style restaurant that serves delicious foods and are flavourful with each bit , I loved the ribs they had. Juicy, crunchy from the panko in top and full of flavour.
Food is delicious π, great portion size and nice customer service. Will definitely visit again.

The three cold dishes for $15 are absolutely worth it, they come in generous portions that tower with food. I also recommend the sour pickled fish soup; its abundance and flavors remind me of a Filipino sinigang. Paired with rice, it makes for a truly gourmet meal.
Spicy City is an absolute gem for anyone who loves authentic Sichuan cuisine. The flavors are bold, rich, and perfectly balanced with just the right level of heat. Every dish tastes fresh and full of aroma, especially the spicy boiled fish and mapo tofu, which are must-tries. The portions are generous and great for sharing with friends or family. Service is fast, friendly, and attentive, making the whole dining experience very enjoyable. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, perfect for both quick meals and group gatherings. I will definitely come back again.

don't order the soup here in the morning. They gave me stale stinky soup. I threw up immediately.

Really enjoyed this place! The shredded pork with green peppers was flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the dan dan noodles were rich, savory, and just the right level of spicy. Would definitely come back.

Great place to have Szechuan food in Irvine and it's better value than Sichuan impression in Tustin. The service from waitress was very fast and friendly. Dry pot tasted spicy with enough flavor as well as the shredded potatoes!

I order take out from this restaurant regularly, I used to love their dry pot beef and spicy boiled fish. Today I found a bug in the spicy boiled fish and it made me question the hygiene of this restaurant. This is really disappointing as this was my favorite Chinese restaurant in Irvine.
Spicy City, please keep your hygiene standards up!
