I don't know if you are aware that Urban Plates charges an automatic 3% surcharge to your bill for employee benefits and wages on top of what they ask you for tip at the register??? I just happen to see the small sign by the taps. Nobody mentions it to you so if you leave a 10, 18 or 20% tip tack on another 3%. It's a very sneaky move and makes me not want to leave a tip at all. This whole tip thing is getting out of hand. Not to mention that the portions have become a lot smaller and now the beef has fat on it that it never had before.

Urban plates is a staple for my husband and I. Fast service, good and healthy food, reasonably priced - what's not to like? Being plate pass members, we get 20% off every time too. It's such a great deal. We come here at lease once a week, and our go-to's are: Double cheeseburger, chicken club sandwich, barramundi (seasonal), and the Cobb salad. Don't forget the chocolate chip cookie! It's huge and so delicious (This one, I did not share with the husband).

Haven't ate at Urban Plates in a minute but I popped in just for their cake and cookie. I love their hummingbird cake which is a pineapple banana cake with nuts-- highly recommend. I do have to add that Ali the cashier is the most friendliest person there; such good customer service!
