We have visited Julian many times and every time we eat at the Julian Cafe. The fried chicken and the meatloaf are both excellent. I keep asking for the recipes but no success yet. I highly recommend.
Our favorite place to stop in Julian for what feels like a home cooked meal. I always like to try something new when I come because all the food is truly delicious. Some of our favorites are the meatloaf, bbq chicken salad, chicken tortilla soup and chicken pot pie but you really can’t go wrong. The chicken pot pie turnover and chicken quesadilla were really good. But the biggest surprise was the green beans--they were the best I've had. I don't know what they grill them in, but the flavor was great.
Also, having tried the double crust apple crust here and at Julian Pie Company--we liked this one better. The apple pieces were bigger and crisper here. Crusts of both pies were great.
