Definitely a tourist trap type restaurant but the food is super good and ambiance is homey and comfortable. They have a bunch of booths available which is nice. We had the fried chicken, chicken turnover, and two kids meals. Decently priced and everything tasted good. You can tell the ranch is homemade so that's a big plus! The lemonades are also very good and homemade.
First of all, the counter helper was knowledgeable and funny and just purely entertaining. Now, the pies.....hubba hubba. The caramel apple with pecans was outstanding. The gluten free apple was fantastic. The gf crust is not strong like the regular pies but the taste is out of this world!
If you want a specific gf pie, call a day or two ahead and they can bake you one. It is well worth it!
And the cost? C'mon. A homemade pie for $24?!...

A great place to order breakfast and pies in Julian! Food was wonderful and they had a pretty extensive breakfast menu. This is a very busy place, when we got there there were 18 parties ahead of us at 8:30 am however there are shops nearby to poke around in during the meantime. We were a party of 2 but sat at a table for 6 which may have also contributed to a longer wait time for other parties.
