We went to this place for breakfast. The service was great, food was delicious, and our whole experience was amazing overall. We ordered the pancakes were so good! They have chuncks of walnuts and apple in them. Highly recommend trying them!

One of the best burgers I have ever had! Great service. Looking forward to come back.

First time here and couldn't believe how big the portion size was. Wow! The three of us had the French Toast (with blueberries and whip cream), biscuits & gravy and the Straight Shooter omelette. All were a lot of food and very good. The text on the menu was very small and with the dim lighting it was a bit hard to read. So I'd suggest a new look for the menus. But the server was real nice and service was pretty good. The place also had a comfortable feel. Would definitely come back.

Cute little cafe in the town of Julian. Been here twice and both times we went pretty early to beat the line. Its pretty small inside but not small where you feel like it's tight in there. They've changed the seating arrangements there since I'm assuming due to covid. Seems a little more roomy with them adding booths which has plexiglass. Staff is friendly and attentive. I did not go an empty cup of coffee while there. Food is delicious. This time around I did a simple breakfast. Eggs and bacon. Bacon was so good!! It's not salty, well at least is isn't for me. Cooked with a crunch but not burnt which was perfect. I did share some French toast with my wife and that was delicious. Fluffy and a good size portion. Melted butter and powdered sugar, topping it off with the syrup. Yum! Perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness with bacon on the side. My cousin ordered their pancakes. Let me tell you, they're huge! 3 stacked! So big that we 3 could've shared it and still have left overs. LOL. If you're ever in town try to grab food here. I believe it's breakfast and brunch and doesn't stay open all day. Second time there and will make sure to go back!

Just dined there. It’s my second visit and food was good last time I visited back on Mar. 13, 2021. This time the service was slow. They had 3 waitresses working. To get refills and the check it took a while. I noticed on the bill there was an added 5% recession fee that was taxed. I never heard of this fee anywhere else. That fee should be added after the tax if they are going to charge you. No where in Julian did they have this recession fee. Be careful!!

Lovely little breakfast cafe in Julian! It can get very busy so I recommend coming very early. My friend and I got there a little before nine and it was packed! Service is a little slow and chaotic but the servers were very friendly. I got the PCT Power Bowl and it was delicious. Good balance of potatoes, eggs, and peppers. I wish there was more gravy, cus it was a little dry. But overall very flavorful and yummy. The pancakes are colossal. Very fluffy and delicious when eaten hot. Portions here are definitely very generous. The blackberry lemonade didn't really taste like blackberry but was still very refreshing and only slightly tart. It was cool that they had so many jams and preserves for sale. Just hard to browse because of the cafe layout.

It’s was good service, clean place, good food!! All around one of the best places to eat in Julian downtown. I highly recommend the boysenberry apple pie. It's amazing!!!

We were happy to find this aging eatery open on Memorial Day weekend. As an 89-year-old with a walker, I was a big dismayed to see 4 or 5 steps at the entry. However, I used the handrail and got in easily. They were busy—and first cup of coffee was slow to come. Once we were served, my cup was always full. It’s a big menu with lots of choices. Gretchen went with the German style pancakes, crepe-like ones smothered in powdered sugar. She liked them. I got the basic two-egg breakfast, generously presented with too many spuds. Servings are ample here. They have an Old West decor, tables decorated with cattle brands. Our busy server is an old pro, kept smiling. It’s a great breakfast place, probably good for lunch and dinner too. We went home with a jar of their strawberry-rhubarb jam.

Dish 1: Chicken Fried Beef Steak (8/10) - I love a nice country fried steak and the gravy was solid and not too runny! The meat was juicy for being fried and the exterior was very crispy and crunchy! Coleslaw gives you a good break from the heavy steak! Mashed potatoes was solid as well! VERY BIG portions! Dish 2: Chicken Pie Turnover (7/10) - I think chicken pot pot is one of my favorite diner foods, while this dish was very solid in flavor, the crust wasn't as flaky as I typically would've liked. Dish 3: Julian Apple Burger (7/10) - Burger is solid, but couldn't taste any of the apple that was mentioned in the description. Nothing too particular about this burger Overall this spot will give you a lot of food for your money. Nothing here is bad, it just doesn't have any unique notes to it's dishes. That being said, if you're hungry and ready to eat, come down here and grab a bite! Food is solid but wish they would elevate the use of "apples" in their dishes.

Not your typical tourist eatery trap, they have a legit good, affordably price breakfast. Food: I had the The German Gold Panner it's basically 3 crepe style pancakes dusted with powdered sugar and fresh lemon wages. My friend country potatoes is crunchy and well seasoned. Ambience: Country homey feel. Service: Efficient and friendly. Affordable.

The pricing is great for all you get. It’s tough for me to find a place I can’t finish This was well worth the stop. Very good service

Went there for breakfast. They have an extensive menu, we both had the waffle with fried chicken. Both were excellent, the chicken breast was huge. We ordered a piece of apple and apple/boysenberry to go as we were too stuffed to eat them there. Would have ordered whole pies if we weren't flying home the next day. Charming restaurant with a super friendly staff. Highly recommend.

This spot is nestled into the heart of Julian. Its a small restaurant with a very cozy vibe. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I ordered the the Reuben with fries. It was pretty good. Nothing crazy. They give a decent portion of fries and they were good too but nothing special. My friends ordered the patty melt and the chicken pie turnover. They both seemed to like their food. We also ordered the potato skins which were really good. Came with sour cream. The prices are on the higher side. Potato skins were 11$, entrees were 14-15$ Overall, the food was pretty good! Nothing special but it is good and I would come back again if I was in the area.
