As a vegan, it's always hard to find really good plant-based food in small towns. Kalis Garden Cafe, here in Julian, is delicious! We split the Skillet Scramble and the avocado toast, which was well portioned and had enough to take home. The chai latte and the decaf americana were excellent! Thank you so much for establishing your business in a place were plant-based eating is hard to come by.

I got the tofu yakisoba and mushroom white sauce pasta and it was amazing. The service was great and the staff were all very nice. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice cozy place to eat at with vegan options.

exceptional food and service! Rob is amazing it's my first time coming here and I will recommend this place to everyone! Vibes are so good and I love that they have events happening here. I am riding my bike across the country otherwise I'd stay longer to try them whole menu and go to the kirtan they're hosting. Thank you Rob! Bless this place! Jai Ma

AMAZING food and service! The mushroom yakisoba was one of the best yakisobas I've ever had and I spend 2 years in Japan. My wife and daughter got the tofu fried rice and Kung pow and were equally impressed. Great ambience and welcoming staff!

I brought my wife and kids to Julian one weekend at the end of January and found this plant base restaurant. We didn’t realize that they were about to close and they were so kind to still allow us to order and dine in. This was the best plant base restaurant we’ve been to in a long time. Everything was great, the service was amazing, the vibe and environment was so calming and warm, the food was great and the taste was amazing. Also the juices taste so good and healthy. We give this place ?. We will definitely come back and encourage other to stop by and enjoy themselves like we did.

What a blessing Kali's Garden is to the Julian community! Some recent meals I've enjoyed were kitchari (Indian rice with lentils and spices), a massive, savory, hearty breakfast burrito, luscious coconut curry ramen, decadent Jackfruit asada fries, comforting pozole, an excellent lasagna, amazing bbq jackfruit burger and the best chana masala I've ever had. Every day there are several specials. The chef is excellent and generous to the clientele. I've seen a complaint on here that the food is too salty, which is absurd. The seasoning and flavors are on point. I've also seen a few complaints that the service isn't great, which is also wrong. The people are very welcoming, friendly and hardworking. The food is fresh and made to order, so it's not fast food. But it comes out quickly enough and is always hot and delicious. It gets busy everywhere in Julian on the weekend, so plan accordingly. And the most ridiculous complaint is the person who is mad that they couldn't get dairy in a plant-based cafe :D Every other one of a dozen places within 2 blocks where you can get a coffee offers dairy milk, and this person is upset at the only vegan place within 30 miles for not having half and half? Folks, there's a reason Kali's Garden has a strong average of 5 stars. Ignore the few haters and take the word of the majority on this one. Don't miss it!

A special place in Julian - one of the only complete plant based eateries out there. Though more importantly, the food is amazingly fresh, flavorful, and tasty. We ordered jackfruit tacos, eggplant lasagna, and the coconut based ramen. Everything was bomb . The only feedback is they should ask for spice level when the order is taken - we found the ramen a tad bit spicy. The place has spacious sitting outside and a few tables inside. It seemed busy, which kinda speaks for itself about the food. Staff was friendly, and I spoke to one of the owners, and he was pumped about the place and taking it to new heights - good for him . We learned about this place at Quiet Mind Lodge, where they cater. Worth to check this restaurant out when one is around the Julian area. Lastly, I would like to visit the place again if stars align, and meanwhile, I hope the place gets more power to maintain their goal of "Ethics, Integrity and Value"

Highly recommend, we have had nothing but great experiences here. The owners and every employee we've encountered have been very helpful and friendly. They have the best coffee in town in our opinion and the food looks amazing. Next time we go we will definitely be ordering food as well. We love the energy and vibes there, it's definitely our go-to spot in town. We also love the story behind the name, it's very fitting with what they've been doing there. They also have a big patio with tables and chairs right out front that's such a great spot to sit when the weather is nice.

I feel privileged to be able to drive 2 miles and eat delicious plant based breakfast and lunch. The food is delicious. I have eaten here several times. Today my I met a couple from out of state for lunch. They thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Try the jackfruit tacos or eggplant lasagna. The Mexican salad is a delicious meal in itself.

Delicious food. Usually I avoid jackfruit because I'm not a huge fan but this was probably the best jackfruit we had. It had a real meaty texture and seasoning. The asada fries were so good. Perfect fries, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Great guac. It is pricey but you can taste that it's homemade and good quality ingredients. The ube cheesecake was also delicious. Cute spot in Julian. So glad us vegans have a go to spot in Julian now. The cute outdoor patio is a plus and that they serve you with real silver utensils instead of plastic ones.

My husband and I had lunch here and it was delicious! We had the asada fries and mushroom tacos - they were out of this world! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We sat outside and had a delightful time.
