I love Julian and its surroundings, however, I purchased a bottle of Menghini 2023 Chardonnay and I have to say, and it pains to write this, it tasted like turpentine, sorta like rotted bark. There was no trace of actual grapes being used to make it. In a word, yuck.
Special event. Dark Skies. Wait in food line about 30 to 45 minutes, wait for Porte Potties about 30 minutes. Parking a disaster. Winery ran out of stock. Poorly planned. Organizers must rethink this event.
If old men with demeaning *humor* are your jam, this is the place for you!
Quaint and fun winery with a personal charm from the owners Mick and Toni that make this a great stop. I wasn’t familiar with wines from San Diego county and after our tasting and education, you can really appreciate the nuances of the wines they make versus wines much further north.
Thank you Mike and Toni
Had a great wine tasting in a rustic atmosphere. Loved all the wines especially the dessert wine and rose!
If you're looking for a peaceful place to enjoy the views with a glass of wine, this is the place. Very nice owners, tasty wine. We had a great visit. Be sure to ask about the pink house!
Fabulous wine on a beautiful day.
My wife and I stopped in on Memorial Day 2025 for a shared flight. We ended up enjoying a few glasses of wine and having a wonderful conversation with Toni. The tasting room is a beautiful old building. The grounds out back were quite nice, wind rustling through the leaves of the trees. Plenty of shade to enjoy some time outside. Ask Mike about the story of the pink house on the hill.
We left with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and Rose of Cabernet Sauvignon and some winery merchandise.
This was the second visit in about a year - their wines and the charming surroundings did not disappoint. And there wasn't a trace of the corporate feel or pushy sales pitches you can get at some other wineries close to San Diego. Definitely worth a visit ❤️
Did not have the best first time experience. Not even crowded and lacked enthusiasm for highlighting their wines.

Great place to visit near Julian. They have expansive picnic grounds. Nice wines to try. Owners are really friendly. Would definitely go back.
Toni and Mike make you feel like friends we were delightful to share life stories and share a bottle of Cabernet with them I even forgot my hat there, thank you very much and happy 50th anniversary!
