I stopped in mid afternoon. This is kind of an antique mall with wine bars, a mead place and a card cider place. I had a flight of the meads. It was great talking to the owner. He's very good at teaching you if you are new to mead.

Stopped specifically so daughter could sample Julian Hard Cider in Root Beer flavor not sold in retail outlets. No AC just fans on a warm day so it got stuffy pretty quick. Provide sample flights that appear pretty popular. I understand the Root Beer Hard Cider was good!

My husband and I decided on a lark to stop in at Julian Station for some wine tasting. They scour San Diego County for boutique wineries, and offer their favorites for sale and tasting. I sampled six wines, two whites and four reds. They had great tasting notes to go along with the wines. I liked the wines so much that I ended up joining their wine club. I will get three wines a quarter from different wineries, mostly reds. If you are looking for bargain wines, this isn't it. But if you would like to learn more about San Diego's burgeoning wine industry and taste some good locally grown wines, do stop here. I believe in locavore eating and drinking. Eat food that is in season and locally grown, and choose local wines. That's my motto.

Used to visit this place when it was the Manzanita Ranch. The food is really good and there is usually local entertainment...the Larosyn-Davies group that did 1920's songs was especially fun. I would give it five stars, but I found out their 'Julian Hard Cider' is from Oregon ! After a little online research, I found some REAL made-from-Julian-fruit hard cider at Julian CiderWorks. Come on, Julian Station, get the real stuff !

Honestly they might have the best Carnitas in the history of mankind. The Sliders are the Bomb! The Julian Hard Cider tasting room is nice too. There is a play area for the little ones!
