Clean, comfortable, delicious, what more could you ask for? This is excellent food in Julian, my only regret is not making it in sooner!
The special today is carne asada fries, they are piled high with toppings, the fries are perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Their red salsa is nicely spicy and the green is so flavorful, perfect choices!
The margarita is excellent too! We will definitely be back sooner than later!

Quecho in Julian: A Hidden Gem That Hits Every Note
If you're rolling through Julian and you don't stop at Quecho, you're missing out plain and simple.
First off: the carne asada fries. They’re not just good. They’re ridiculously good. Crispy, flavorful, loaded just right not drowning in toppings, not skimping either. You’ll remember them long after you leave.
Pair that with one of their house margaritas perfectly balanced, not that sugar-laden stuff most places pass off and suddenly you’re in no rush to leave.
The staff? Friendly without being fake. The vibe inside? Comfortable, like a place that actually wants you to relax and enjoy yourself. No tourist trap feel just a solid, dialed-in local favorite.
If you're looking for one spot in Julian where the food delivers, the drinks are great, and the service makes you feel like you belong. QUECHO DELIVERS.
Highly recommend. And if you try those fries, you’ll thank me later.

I stumbled on this restaurant in Julian by accident since it’s a bit off the main street, but I’m glad I did. It’s a really nice, cozy spot with both indoor and outdoor seating—the outdoor area is huge and set up in a traditional Mexican style, which gives it a great atmosphere. I tried a new dish I hadn’t had before and ended up loving it; everything was made really well. It wasn’t busy when I visited, but the wait for the food was still pretty long. Even so, it was worth it once the meal arrived. Overall, a great hidden find in Julian.

Today was veterans day, meaning the staff should be super locked in today. Once we arrived, the lady seated us at a random picnic table in a pile of dirt in the back of the restaurant. We ordered our food, then waited 2 HOURS (not exaggerating, we got there at 1 and received our food at 3) for our food. Food was decent but not worth a 2 hour wait. Do not recommend.

Honestly the food is good, but the service is very poor. We been waiting on our table for 20min for the waiter to order and 30min for just tacos and quesadillas to come. The funny thing is, the waiter don’t think it is a big of a deal and told us to stay patience. The attitude of the waiter is just rude and obnoxious.

I love it here ! We were just passing through Julian and found this joint by happenstance. The food was yummy and the service was so charming and friendly. They also had a filling, delicious vegan option for my husband - which means a lot to us. Definitely try it out

We went to this place based on a Happy Cow recommendation. Vegan options are rare in Julian so this place was uplifting to dine at. Outdoor seating is dog friendly, also offers fully covered outdoor seating for harsher weather conditions. The menu is clearly marked with vegan options, tacos, street tacos, burrito, & custom bowls. The fresh guacamole appetizer was great!
This little Mexican restaurant is an absolute gem! The food is bursting with authentic flavors and you can really taste the difference — everything is made from scratch with so much care. From the freshly prepared salsas to the perfectly seasoned dishes, every bite feels like home-cooked comfort.
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff treat you like family. It’s not just a place to grab a quick meal — it’s the kind of spot you want to come back to again and again. If you’re looking for real Mexican food made with love (not the watered-down version you find in so many places), this is where you need to go. Highly recommend!

We stopped in for lunch and Patricia was so lovely. I had the tacos and my girl got the quesadillas. So yummy. The homemade chips and salsa are a must!!!! They were to die for. Thanks again Patricia
