Extremely poor service, not to say piss poor, from two disgruntled employees. I walked in and didn't even receive a greeting. Furthermore, I ordered a turkey sandwich, which proved to be quite a challenge for the already frustrated employee. He spoke in heavily accented English and didn't communicate in complete sentences. I couldn't understand what he was saying, so I politely asked him to repeat. He responded with even more irritation and impatience. He didn't mention that I needed to specify every single ingredient for the complicated sandwich due to his lack of complete phrasing. After I grasped the issue, I apologized for not immediately understanding his request. This was a mistake, as he turned his back to me and muttered, "Wasn't that difficult." When I addressed his comment, he became even more annoyed, stating that he had said it to himself. The woman at the cashier, who had been witnessing the entire unpleasant situation, asked me to repeat the entire order once again, displaying the same annoyed tone as the other employee. If you're unhappy with your job and don't like dealing with customers, especially foreigners who disrupt your supposedly pleasant life (referring to the sandwich preparer), perhaps you should consider a job change or even relocating to a different country.

Gas is cheaper here than in Lee Vining. Kind of dirty around the pumps, but the $7 milkshake made up for it. A lot of traffic through this area.

So me and my family went to this cafe. We ordered a turkey sandwich. As we ordered he asked very meanly: WITH WHAT??!!!!. We said everything, like normal. He was answering very disrespectful: yeah what do you want on there and we had to count up anything. After that he turned around and said: wasn’t so difficult. And when we asked him what he said he just answered that he was apparently talking to himself. The sandwich and 2 hot dogs were 28$.

Me, my brother in law, and his son got stuck here after finding out the YART bus was 12 hour in advance registration at this location. We explained our situation to the very nice young lady at the counter our situation, about trying to get back to our car in Tuolumne Meadows, and pick up a sick family member in Silver Lake. Not only did she help us out with our predicament, she call the owner of the gas station, who then came and drove us to Lee Vining in his car. We offered payment, but it was refused. I know I cannot make anyone do anything, but if you are driving through the area, please stop in and support these very kind people. It was a true blessing to see not only to meet kind folk, but ones that truly believe in community. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Fine rest by the highway. Beautiful views.. Cozy cafe, simple snacks, with some basic groceries and souvenir shop. Friendly staff is pleasantly helpfull. But... their "Real-milkshakes and organic espresso" is simply a must. Very good! The gas-station is obviously pretty pricey.
