The food was very good! The ink squid was amazing as was the clam appetizer. I ordered the rib eye which was very good cooked to perfection but it was served on a cold plate and the bone marrow sauce cold. I think the plate should be warmed so the sauce and the meat is warm as well. The service was great....just my 2 cents.

Food is creative and delicious. Always fresh, well prepared and tasty, the menu varies every week. Californian, Japanese, Korean and Italian food are all represented and presented beautifully. The couple who run the restaurant are charming and hard working. Great wine list and hearty cocktails. Check it out!
Golden Bear Station is stellar in every single way. Amazing vibes, even better food, and even better hospitality. My favorite restaurant by far. Heidi and Michelle take amazing care of us every time, and Chef Smookler and his team blow our minds with their innovation and skill with every dish. 10/5. Thank you for the incredible memories every time we go, as well as for making it easy to impress each and every friend we bring to GBS!
We started with the boquerones and hen of the woods mushrooms. The roasted cherry tomatoes with the boquerones spread on toast made a delicious first course. We then shared the bolognese with pesto over the rice cakes and the grilled loup de mer seabass. We fit with the basque cheesecake. All of the items were very unique and perfectly prepared. We will be back for more!
If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Such an amazing experience that we went back. Great food, not a bad seat in the house and wonderful staff
Phenomenal. Everything Heidy and Joshua touch turns to gold. Delicious and thoughtfully created food, an amazing wine list, and service that is full of care. I'll be back as soon I can!
Such a gem in Kenwood! An absolute amazing experience and even BETTER food! Starting with the Tuna and the Hen of the Woods mushrooms to the Truffle Udon, NOT a single item disappoints! A definite must if you are in the area!!
Went for their remarkable handmade pasta, but decided to try the new Korean BBQ entree. A Wagu-style short rib, specially marinated for days, served with special Korean plum sauce. It is expensive ($138), but would easily serve 4-6. We had another full dinner from the leftovers. You also must have the kimchi fried rice side. We ordered the Autumn salad as a shared starter. Burrata, chicory, persimmons, fabulous dressing. Easily served two. No room for dessert, but they do great baked goods. I can also attest to their superior pizzas - the Diavola with Calabrian pepper honey. Yum. As always, Heidi was an attentive, gracious hostess and our server was friendly with just the right level of attentiveness. Should be on everyone's list for Sonoma Valley.
Stellar food, amazing hospitality, always a great dining experience. The Porterhouse is always peak mind blowing, buttery. Each dish is truly exemplary.

Absolutely phenomenal food and service! We will be back very soon! I absolutely love the fact that I was able to have a unique dish that I could not have it another restaurant. Every single thing I ate I've never experienced before and it was phenomenal! I didn't get pictures of everything we ate because we immediately started eating it, it all looks so good and was so good! Not a single one of us could think of something we didn't like.
This place is incredible, food and service! Order whatever the hostess/ owner recommends. She is never wrong.
We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The owner was someone who had put a lot of thought and care into the menu with an extensive wine list to match! We felt like we received very individualized service and were very happy with the quality of all of the food. We hope to go back again!
EXCITING food!! Every dish was extraordinarily delicious. The blue fin tuna with tomato water and basil oil - out of this world! The hen of the woods - inventive flavor bomb. Pastas to die for - pork sooo tender - and with the most amazing sauce. I don' think there can be any wrong choices in ordering here. Can't wait to return. This is the type of food one dreams about.
Always amazes me how imaginative and delicious the food is here. This is like our 5th or 6th visit and we were surprised a little with the menu being quite different than previous times. No pizza. No delicious French fries. Instead some of the most imaginative dishes. The autumn salad had persimmons (we asked and they told us all about them. Along with bursts cheese and radicchio. Sounded very different but the star were the candied pecans AND a brown butter vinegarette! Wow what an amazing combo. Really enjoyable. The grilled maitake mushrooms with an amazing sauce that looks like an egg (but nothing like it) is always a favorite. Super delicious. We also go to try a rice cake bolognese sauce that was again, amazingly innovative. The rice cakes were little “pasta-like” pillows that had a little longer “al-dente type” texture. And a little dob of fresh basil/pesto just pulled it all together. Entrees included a cacio d Pepe pasta and a wood grilled heritage pork chop with a peach and basil sauce, plots, candied pecans and arugula. It sat on an onion puree. Wow! The flavors came together perfectly, cooked medium and super flavorful. Try some new menu items with you visit. You won't be disappointed! We never are!
