They have a sign that say walk ins welcome. We walk in and no one even acknowledged us. Then we try to stop someone to ask a question and he was so cold and blew us off so immediately walked out and wont be back.
I decided to give this place a second chance before making this review. Both times that I’ve came here they were not very busy and the service is horrible! It’s a beautiful winery but customer service goes a long way.
Good Morning,
I wanted to take a moment to share an experience my husband and I had at Kunde Winery last Sunday. We were celebrating our anniversary weekend in Sonoma at my brother’s home and had planned a couple of wine tastings throughout the weekend. I had invited our son and daughter-in-law to join us, and later, two of our friends asked if they could join as well. This brought our group to six for tastings at Shady Brook and Whitehall on Saturday, and Kunde on Sunday.
When we arrived at Kunde a little early, we were kindly set up on the patio. There were about five or six tables outside, and our server seemed a bit rushed, as she was attending to multiple tables. At times, we had to wait for service, but we understood it was a busy day.
Our friends, who own a vineyard in Volcano, purchased seven bottles of wine after our tasting. When I inquired about their tasting fees being waived, the server informed us that only four tastings could be comped, so our friends would still be charged. While we respect your policy, we were surprised by this limitation, especially considering the purchase made.
After discussing our experience on the way home, my husband and I have decided to cancel our Kunde Wine Club membership. We appreciate the wines and past experiences we’ve had, but this visit did not meet our expectations.
Please confirm that our wine club membership has been cancelled.
I have emailed the wine club membership 3 times and not once has anyone responded. very poor communication,
While traveling from Santa Rosa to Sonoma, we took the scenic route and decided to stop at this gorgeous estate along the way. We were the first to arrive at 10:30 a.m. and, while initially judged for our early timing, we explained that we were on East Coast time, which earned us a pass. We were walk-ins without reservations.
It took a little time for the staff to warm up to us, but once they did, they were friendly and accommodating. It was an average wine tasting, served at the bar, with a mini lesson on the region’s microclimates and how they influenced the wines. Overall, it’s a pleasant stop if you’re in the area and looking to enjoy beautiful surroundings and a bit of wine education.
The experience was wonderful, but the wines didn't stand out and the mountaintop tasting was overpriced. Nice winery but not the best value.
Great winery to visit whether passing through or making a trip out of it. Between the tasting experience, cave tours and overall friendly staff I would highly recommend checking Kunde Winery out.
This was such a fun stop!!! Kunde is only one of a few vineyards that have a wine cave and it’s so incredible to see! We were lucky enough to catch the 11am tour and are so glad we did. Wade led the tour and walking through those caves was a bucket list item for sure The $25 tasting was well worth it as we got to try a variety of their wines and have Wade there to explain the flavors.
The grounds are gorgeous without feeling gimmicky or pretentious. As a new wine drinker I felt comfortable asking questions as I was learning.
If you only choose one winery to visit, you wouldn’t be disappointed with this one!!
Very nice winery. Tour guide was great. Property is beautiful. The wine exceptional!

Not recommended. If you want to be hushed and silenced for having a good time all the power to you. I would not recommend this as a stop for anyone.

Such a great place to spend an afternoon. Our wine tasting session went perfect with Roger. The wines were really good and he gave us the wine’s background with great detail and passion. We bought a lot of bottles to go!
The winery is also really cute with a beautiful pond right by the main area. Overall highly recommend.
My favorite winery I went to during our Napa trip. Really cool place, and very friendly people. Had two glasses of their red blend, which was delicious. Can't wait to come back
Bankrupt!
Broken Contract!
Still Has $6K Wedding Venue Deposit!
We contracted Kunde's Boot Hill for our 2025 wedding, and within three months, they informed us that we could no longer use the venue, breaking our contract.
They initially offered to refund our $6K deposit, which we begrudgingly accepted, only to fail repayment - leaving us with a lengthy court process as our only recourse.
It is not possible to recommend Kunde any less.
This place is one of a kind. Exceptional wine, outstanding service, gorgeous views. We did the outside bar tasting. Reiner was a gem, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We will be back to visit him again soon!
Edit: second visit today 8/10/24- just as awesome an experience as the first !! Tried the Kineybrook tasting and loved all the wines - our favorite was the 2022 Chardonnay reserve. What made the experience incredible was the kindness and warmth of our server Carrie. She was so helpful and attentive and also made us feel very comfortable with our two babies running around. Way to go Carrie !!
Original review: My family and I became members today after an amazing first experience and tasting with Sonaya. I was the designated driver so I actually didn’t taste the wine, but everybody thoroughly enjoyed the wine, the ambiance, and most importantly the attentive and kind reception we received by everybody we spoke to. The lady welcoming folks with reservations in the K room was very friendly and helpful. Sonaya also did a wonderful job, providing us with the perfect, personalized wine tasting experience for those that were drinking. She also explained the benefits of membership and we decided that we want to make Kunde a part of our experience living in the Bay Area. We took home twelve wonderful bottles mixed between Rose, Syrah, and Meritage. We really look forward to experiencing our membership here and will update this post as we experience more.
